This is a great little holder for lathe blades. I actually prefer high speed steel because my lathe is underpowered for theses bits. But I was able to swap in my HSS bits and give these to my friend with a professional setup. The swap was easy and they work just as well as the professional tools I've tried.It's a good tool for the price, you can't go wrong.

I’ve been wanting to get a set of these Carbide insert threading tools for quite some time but my Lathe isn’t al that great for machining threads with. The process I have been forced to use isn’t efficient at all, and the standard process using the “thread indexing dial” tends to shave the tops off the threads around the 3rd or 4th pass as something in the gearbox skips a beat. So it requires a “run/stop/reverse/repeat” method while leaving the half-nut fully engaged the entire time, which is quite tedious and time consuming. As such, I’ve opted to do most of my threading with tap and dies while the cost of carbide threading tools hardly seemed a justifiable expense given the problems associated with my lathe. When this set came up on the Vine Reviewers program, I figured this would be a great opportunity to acquire the tooling I needed to once again try my hand at machine threading.This looks like a fairly decent set of near professional quality threading tools. They have all the right angles machined into them with carbide inserts to match. The boring bar style inside threading bar is a left hand rear cut tool, or right hand rear cut reverse rotation tool. As long as you don’t have a threaded lathe chuck that likes to spin off when ran in reverse while cutting, this tool design is handy for cutting right hand threads on the outward feed direction, which also eliminates the potential for crashing the tool in the bottom of a blind hole. These carbide insert threading tools will be a huge improvement over the hand ground HSS tools I’ve been using and should serve me well in my home machine shop. I feel this set is a great value for the price also.

Needed threading tools, this fits the bill nicely. Tool bit is sharp and well formed. Comes in a 10 pack. Holders are well.made and have crisp machining. Included torx street wrench is of average quality. Overall a great package with everything promised in the advertisement and of sufficient quality to do excellent work. I am pleased.An interesting side not.. the outside threading tools holder has what appears to be a carbide insert to go below the cutting insert. I'm perhaps uninformed in this regard as to why but perhaps it is to limit wear to the tooling holder. Or perhaps it is a well thought out adapter.
