I got this M8 thread repair inserts to replenish my stock, as I was running low. I tried this on a stripped aluminum part and it worked perfectly, just as good as the inserts that came with my repair kit. Make sure you're getting the correct size for your thread repair kit. Your kit should have the 8.3 drill bit with the correct tap to fit the M8X1.25 insert. For those who are interested, I searched the internet for the actual size of the tap, but could not find that information. My tap and die set does not have the same size of tap that my thread repair kit has.
