This screen covers my furnace exhaust perfectly. It is, however, a bit of a challenge to get the springs hooked so they hold it on. I have done it, and I'm sure many others have as well. I'm surprised they stay attached, but they do if you get it connected properly.

Mud daubers get into all kinds of RV openings and cause serious damage. They get into furnace exhausts and build nests that choke off the airflow. It can be nearly impossible to get them cleaned out, depending on where they may be.This screen set will cover a square section 4.5" x 4.5 " and also a rectangular section 5.75" x 8,5". It comes with silicone edging to put around the perimeter of the screen to both seal it better and prevent it from scratching the RV finish. Since it is silicone, it can handle the extreme heat without melting.Kit also comes with 2 springs per cover and a tool that allows you to place the cover over the vent, with the spring on the inside, then push with the tool to extend the spring to place over a bar in the vent. The screen is then held to the RV by spring tension, so it will not rattle off as you travel.IMPORTANT NOTE: Many/most RV manufacturers and appliance manufacturers will void your warranty if you present your RV for warranty service with these screens in place. They claim the screen restricts airflow. However, it has depth, which means the screen has more open area than their exhaust port. In short, their rationale is BS. Just a way to avoid a warranty claim. They would rather you show up with mud dauber nests in the exhaust. You know why? Because that is not covered by warranty, either! Either way, they get to deny your claim. Go figure. Fargin' Bastages! My take is to use the screen, keep the bugs out, then make sure you remove the screen before you take your RV to the dealer for service (for ANY reason). Just put them back on once you get the RV back. Serves them right.

These screens work as advertised! They are well made with quality materials. We appreciate the included gaskets, as another product we had did not provide them. We have had issues with bugs infiltrating our rig...but no more!

The covers appear well made with no visible welds laps on the frame. The mesh is relatively tight and should keep mud-dobbers out.To no fault of the seller, these were too small for my 12-gallon water heater, so measure carefully- they are not all the same. I placed them on my furnace, but that is temporary until I get the correct ones. The silicone seal was easy to press onto the frame and when everything was installed. Installation may take a few tries. It can take a but to get the spring in just the right place.

Although I do use these type of vents for our RV this set was ordered for an off label use. My need was for preventing larg debris from clogging a concrete French drains underground piping requiring a jetter to unclog. The silicone rubber edges are a nice touch since they help keep the screens in place and create a tight seal. So far it is working well at keeping leaves etc out of main drainage pipes. The mesh is fine enough to keep out even tiny leaves etc but doesn't restrict water flow at all, which was one of my main concerns. Build quality is solid - definitely more heavy-duty than the cheap plastic covers I've tried before. My only minor gripe is that the rectangular screen could be slightly larger to cover more fully, but it fits my need well enoughBeing stainless steel, these should last way longer than other alternatives. Definitely recommend for my use & any RV owner tired of dealing with unwanted guests in their vents! As I said I also use the type of vents on our RV for bug intrusions. Now for RV use the attachment springs can be very tedious. Have patience & you will be fine.
