The string tree is fine enough for the money, however the hardware is terrible. Even after pilot drilling, the mounting screw snapped before even tight. I piloted again and the second screw failed before tight.Needless to say now I a slightly bigger problem to resolve.

What can you say about string trees? Well made, no sharp edges. Thanks!

I was looking for some channeled string retainers for my bass that has flats on it. Flats usually are wrapped in a thread material on the top end of the string. The stock (Fender / Squire) string trees do not have a channel. That's not a problem with exposed metal string tops. My flats on the stock string trees were popping out. These, since they have a channel, will prevent that from happening. My only gripe is that the screws are too long so I just used the original ones and was good to go.
