There was no capacitor for the tone pot, which really not a big deal if you know what you are doing. And the ground connection on the input jack was bent flat. Again, not a large deal if you have any idea what you are doing. Cheap, cheesy, and just what I needed on a $99.00 OLP bass that needed new electronics.

I was skeptical about this product because of the price and because the seller’s business is not related only to musical instruments. However, once the plate control arrived, I realized it was very easy to instal (my bass is a OLP stingray passive) and to be honest the final result was amazing. It was incredible how the quality of the sound of my bass improved because of this prewired control. I’m not sure if the pots from the original control plate were old or the quality was really bad, but there’s a notorious difference in sound and clarity. I’m really happy with the product and I truly recommend to try it at least.

For $15 I didn’t expect much, but the shape doesn’t match the original (the curvature and the rounded ends are different), the potentiometer holes don’t line up, and the screw holes do not line up at all. As I’m not willing to drill additional holes, this control plate is useless for me.

Turned my Sterling SUB series 5 string from dead (didn't work) into a usable instrument again. After buying the instrument cheap online from a private seller and using it successfully maybe 3 times, my 5 string bass went quiet. I tried fixing it myself with no luck. Bought the loaded 2 band control plate, removed components from the control plate and installed them on my bass and my problem was solved! NOTE: This item does not have active electronics circuitry and basically makes your Stingray a passive instrument - no longer requiring a 9V battery to operate. The tone control IS limited, but DOES work fine. Comes with no instructions, so buyer needs to know how to solder and duplicate installation connections to the instrument. Buy with confidence!
