Q & A:

About odor:

It's common that there is a little non-toxic odor, please wash the paddings clean and the odor will dissipate, you can safely use them.

About thickness:

This product is uniformly cut and repaired by the machine. Our panels always need to be placed in a well-ventilated place and can be restored to normal size in 1-2 days. If some corners have not been restored, just blow the unrecovered corner with low heat then wait for 2 hours, or soak the panel in water for a few minutes, and then air-dry to restore it to its original shape.

About the effect:

This product is an indoor sound absorption and noise canceling material, which is mainly aimed at indoor echo, reflex sound, noise, etc.; The use area is greater than 60% to ensure better effects, and small area installation effects are limited.

About sound insulation:

Our panels are mostly meant to diffuse the sound within a room, not prevent sound from escaping. It can reduce some noise coming from outside, but cannot 100% eliminate the sound. So we would recommend start with one order, see how it works and if you need more get more.

Was a good value for how many. Functioned like it was suppose to do. not to much block sound but make it so echos go away. Took about 20 mins to them to fully puff back up decent quality

I got the 36 pieces pack, i don't think I've selected the good brand or type. You have to get double face patches to stick amd mount on the walls. I got 3m stickers although many of the pieces have fallen out. Recommend the ones come with self adhesive.

These arrive vacuum sealed and compressed. Unpack them and give it a couple days and wow, thick looking squares. There may be some slight variations with each and some may be slightly thinner on one side or the peaks may not have such a point.Overall works great and looks nice.

We originally got these to sound deaden my dartboard wall but the foam was thicker than we was expecting so we decided to use it for my sons room as when he games he forgets that is in a house of people and likes to shout. Once we decided on a wall to use it on the instructions was clear and easy to follow. The self adhesive so far has held up and not even looks like its going to peel off which is perfect and most of all the sound has almost gone and thats better for all of us in the house.

These panels work great for reducing echoes and improving sound quality in my home setup. The pyramid design looks cool and does a good job of sound absorption. They expanded quickly after unpacking, just as described. Installation was easy with adhesive tape (not included), but make sure your wall is clean for the best results. One thing to note is that while the foam is dense, it’s more for reducing echoes than full soundproofing. Overall, a great option for a studio or gaming space!

Ok, there is a lot to unpack when it comes to some of the negative things that others have had to say in regards to these tiles. The one thing that most people do not seem to understand is that tiles like this ARE NOT SOUND BLOCKING! They are meant only to absorb echoes in an environment. In my case, these were installed with the idea of toning down the room a bit. I run a couple of industrial lasers that require supporting equipment like a water chiller, air compressor and more than one fume extraction fans. All combined add up quickly decibel wise and the tiles do an excellent job of quieting the environment just by removing the echoes so I only hear the original source of the noise and not it bouncing off everything else and hitting my ears milliseconds later. These tiles are not a “Silver Bullet”, but they are darn close. I have tried other sound dampening tiles and found them to be inferior in performance and a pain in the *ss to install with the sub-par adhesive squares that come with them, and just plain look like crap (I have a whole contractor’s garbage bag full of them now because they are that bad). The foam on these was a bit odoriferous at first, but dissipated quickly. Expansion of the tiles after removing them from the vacuum packs was almost instantaneous and were usable within 3-5 minutes and the density is far superior to other tiles I have tried. For installing these, I DID NOT use adhesive or tape. Since they were going over drywall the most secure way that I found to mount them was using a pair of Lineman’s pliers to push in 1” long round top blued nails (5 per tile). They are invisible once seated unless you look for them and they do not compress the foam and distort, thus degrade the function of, the tiles like staples from a staple gun will. Using the nails also made it exceedingly easy to remove the tiles for repositioning when needed due to installer error ;-)For my first installation, I covered the ceiling of the area where my machinery that makes the most noise resides. The floor was then covered with ¾” thick rubber stall mats which are also great for deadening noise reflections (echoes). Some have commented that my current 12’ X 11’ area is creepy in the fact that once they enter it, the normal echoes that we are all used to hearing almost disappear (this can cause discomfort/disorientation for some since they are something the brain uses for spatial cues).Would I buy these again, absolutely! Actually I already did, I’m just waiting for them to arrive so I can start installing them in the rest of the Shop ;-)Yes, I did get some dud tiles (mashed due to the manufacturing process, packing, whatever) as others mentioned, I just set these aside and used them when partial tiles were called for. In the end, it worked out just fine and the loss due to defective tiles was minimal at best (no tiles were a total loss).Just the tiles on the ceiling alone made an immediate difference, when coupled with the flooring the effect was far beyond my expectations! I cannot wait to tile the other two thirds of the ceilings when the rest of the tiles I ordered arrive.

About 80% of the panels are the right size and cut, and look great. The remaining 20% are ether mis-cut (i.e. the wrong size) or perma-smashed by the shipping methodology (i.e. flattened in a way that no amount of dryer-tumbling or hand-ruffling will restore). But the biggest issue is the nauseating smell, which has not dissipated in the 3 weeks I've left them to air out. Would buy again if I had an outdoor application, and just order 25% more than I need in order to get the final yield.Update: consider carefully before buying the Scotch Repositionable Spray Adhesive recommended by another review. In my case, the panels keep falling off the foam core board that I put them on using that spray adhesive; I basically come in to the room every few days and re-attach a handful of panels which have fallen off the wall.

I bought 72 of them total, Majority of them will decompress and be pretty much be ready for mounting within ~5 mins of breaking the air seal on their bag.- Yes, they do have a weird smell, but I didn't think it was bad enough to where I felt like I had to leave them outside or somewhere else to air out..-Some will be a little funky and compressed together in areas of the panel. I found putting a little bit of water in the area and carefully pulling the foam apart to separate it worked out well.Mounting:This is really dependent on what your setup goals are, I personally tried to use adhesive squares in an "X" pattern, of which, lasted only a few days for about 90% of them before falling off...-What worked for me as I've seen online, was using Dressmaker Pins then lightly tapping them into the wall with a hammer.-I've seen others talk about using cardboard/other material as a backboard to mount these on with spray adhesive.Whatever floats your boat.Personal Results:- I mainly bought these so I am less likely to disturb my household when talking with others online.- There was a slight echo if you clapped your hands in my room before these, It got rid of that. (If that's worth anything to you)- Other family members agreed it helped with noise coming from my monitor speakers not bleeding out of my room as much, and that I can watch Hulu/YouTube etc at a slightly louder level.Considering foam panels are basically the lowest tier of sound/acoustic dampening, I'd say these were a good purchase from my Non-Expert opinion. I do believe they could be a little cheaper or include more per purchase though
