Minus one star for this product being advertised as SOUND PROOFING panels, and using this term synonymously with ACOUSTIC panels in their product description. They are not the same thing. These provide next to NO value as sound proofing because that's not what they're really meant for, and is the source of most negative reviews for these and many similar types of panels on Amazon. They are ACOUSTIC panels, meant to remove unwanted echo and reverberation from a recording space, and NOT meant to insulate sound. Do not buy these if you are actually looking for sound proofing.Minus another star for how THIN these panels are. I bought some acoustic panels a few years ago, and wanted to add some additional panels to the room, and these are literally half as thick as the ones I bought previously. I think this is essentially "shrinkflation" for foam products generally, as every other acoustic panel I looked at had this same sort of complaint in the reviews.Other than that, these still work well enough for their intended use - cover your walls with them, and it will still remove any echo or reverb in the room just fine.These come in a vacuum sealed pack like most other similar panels, however these also come in a box, which prevented the panels from getting banged up during shipping - I had no issues with smashed corners or edges on any of the panels when they re-inflated. They also popped back to full size almost immediately, no need to dunk them in water or wait days for them to breathe, they were ready to install right after removing them from the packaging. They also didn't leave a strong chemical smell in the room for days, like other similar panels I have bought in the past. I also appreciated that they were a uniform size, I had real problems with my previous panels all being slightly different dimensions and making it really hard to cover the walls symmetrically. Do note these do NOT come with any way to actually stick them to the wall - I just used a staple gun with black staples though, and it looks great!

These panels expanded almost instantly once out of their packages. I had one that didn't but it only took a few hours or so to return to fully size. They came with so many adhieve stickers I have more then I needed. So now, I can buy more without needing to get the stickers.

I've used many of these panels before (have over 100 up), and USUALLY after shipping, they need just 3 hours to expand from their shrink-wrap state. In some extreme cases, using water and a hairdryer gets the panels into full form. But not with this item: the shrink-wrap used for packing ALSO crimped and then melted one side of EVERY panel in this order (I'm assuming heat was used to seal the shrink-wrap bag?). It's been over 30 hours of letting these panels expand, including rinsing with water, wringing them out, and blow-drying them, to no avail - the heat used to seal the bag permanently melted every panel in this order. These panels are already very thin, but with the packaging issue from the manufacturer, look elsewhere; there are many other sellers of this similar product.

I bought this to reduce outside noise pollution in my old apartment with poor window and door seals. I was skeptical and not expecting much, but I had to try something. The foam itself seems high quality and is very thick. Yes it took some time to fully expand, but it did expand. No the smell isn't great, but that's how foam smells and it goes away quickly. The adhesive pads included worked very well on every surface I tried with no pretreatment. I tried them on glass, metal, and painted surfaces. I was able to cover my entire bedroom window, the frame of my front door, and the edges of my balcony door where there were gaps. It has reduced the sound inside noticably, especially in the bedroom where I used the most foam. On my front door I used a staple gun to ensure the pads won't come off with opening and closing the door. Now the only sounds that come through are the horn of the nearby train, and the annoying straight piped pickup trucks everyone seems to have in my area. But both are still reduced enough to be livable now. It's nice to finally relax in my own home. I'm strongly considering buying more for my home office and the rest of my front door, it was worth the money spent so far.

Some don't actually fluff up to size, they are staying flat like a pancake and most are not an inch like it says. I have left them fluff up since Christmas day. Also it did not come with anything to put them up or instructions. Have not installed so I can not leave a comment on the noise cancelation part.

got these for my garage door to help with sound when we're practicing. we feel it made a difference. it doesn't lessen the sound getting through to outside but it definitely helps with being able to hear each other when we're practicing. had no problem with smell or them even expanding. the second i opened the plastic they expanded to 10 times the size. just wish i had bought more.

I would have liked a ‘thicker’ product but, still happy with this. Very easy to attach to my painted brick interior wall, using liquid nails. I have put paneling over them

The quality is low, the foam is quite thin. I like the look but need practice installing. I used spray adhesive like others suggested and that worked well. The smell at first was bad but you can keep them out for 24hrs and they smell like nothing. Sound quality was not the best or the worst. I think I’d purchase more for a larger room.

I used this for a music room where I also work remotely. I had a bad echo and got rid of it. I used Walmart hat pins to hold it in place. They are so tiny that they don’t leave holes in the wall but perfect for hanging these up. 👍

More than 70 percent of the 3 X boxes of 52 I purchased did not ever expand into form/shape. Waste of time and money

Timely exercise when having to use 3m double sided tape that doesnt always work. but if you have the time its okay.

Wish I had understood needing adhesive beforehand. It was a work out getting the little strips on the foam. However, I didn't something that I would have to struggle to take out upon move in.
