Finger position pencil grips are the best.Our first grader uses them at school to keep her from griping the pencil with four fingers.

I do think the intention was good when these were produced but they encourage a writing grip that is not realistic when writing bare pencil. The design limits flexing of the fingers and makes it more difficult to write neatly.

Bought this to help the kiddo in getting a better grip on his pencils, easing any strain on his fingers and keeping it steady while he writes /traces his letters and words. He was getting frustrated with the pencil and pen slipping from his hands, and I didn't want him to get discouraged. I let him choose the color he wanted, slipped it on, and it was an immediate change. He's encouraged by the fact that it helps his grip, and his writing is so much smoother and even now that he has steady control.Absolutely needs to be in the home and school kits for writing...and yes in his digital age, our own hands get cramped fast, so take one for yourself too (as long as it's not a color THEY like!)

The pencil grip help my left handed 4 year old hold his pencil correctly I had trouble showing him how to hold it since I'm right handed but he very easily got the concept of where to put his fingers after using the pencil grip
