Needed a replacement for an aged out Velo5, tried a lesser brand — not a good idea. Followed the directions and setup was quick and easy. You do need to be sure the trigger/transmitter and receiver are aligned. Works as well as the old 5 did.

Good wireless odometer. It functions well. Not easy to install around the front wheel of the bike. See the photos. The magnet and sensor must be very, very close. Also, programming the odometer takes a while, since the small button is on the back. But we get there. The instruction book is well made. I recommend it and quick delivery.

This bike computer does the job and is easy to install. One thing to note, if you have a headlight close by that is flashing off and on, it can interfere with this computer. This happened to me so what I did was leave the headlight on steady, not flashing and this computer worked perfectly.

I read the negative reviews and dismissed them please read this. The screens connection to the sensor is super weak. I can get it to connect if I hold the screen next to the sensor then as I move it away I make it about half way up my bicycle towards my handle bars and it disconnects. As I move it back towards the sensor it will connect again and again as I move it away I can't even get it to stay connected on the frame of the bike. Just useless. Please stay away from this product.

Typical Cateye quality and durability. I have no desire for any type of GPS computer. All I need is ride time, distance, avg speed and time. Easy to install and set up on my Orbea Occam LT. As a side note, this is replacing a Cateye Micro wireless with the 'Click Tec' style button that is probably better suited to a road bike as the bumping from MTB use was constantly activating the button.

I've been using Cateye bike computers for over 2 decades and they never cease to impress. This is my first wireless unit, purchased to replace a Cateye I've been using for over a dozen years to move into the wireless era. I was a little hesitant given some is the reviews but it's obvious to me that some folks just have a hard time following simple install directions. Screen is clear and easy to read at a glance. Very accurate. Easy to set and navigate the menu. Along with the ability to finely tune the wheel/tire circumference, the ability to set the odometer when replacing an older computer is great. All in all, I couldn't be happier with this purchase and am very glad I went with the wireless version.

If all you want is speed, miles, and the like without GPS, mapping, and all the bells and whistles, this is the item to get. Simple to program (though the online instructions are easier to follow than the printed ones that come with it). You can pick a default tire size, but I fine-tuned to my wheel circumference. Measured setting was off a little, but with a tweak, I got 26.55 mi on my watch, 26.56 on the Cateye, and 26.57 on Gaia - can't get much better than that. I just show speed and miles on the ride (can be reset easily with each ride), but can switch screens to see other stats. The up/down arrow to show whether you current speed is above or below the average speed for the ride encourages you to push a little harder. My only criticism is the menu button on the back is rubber and a little funky to push correctly. I have an old Garmin with similar features, but the menu button has a nice click to it. I'd buy this again.

Overall, you really get the most bang for your buck with this nifty gadget. To start off, I want to point out a major complaint; some people have difficulty understanding the instructions manual. If you've bought any internationally-sold bike products (this, and Continental for example), but most importantly this, you'll see that on the back there's about half a dozen languages, so instead of sending you a small novel, they give you clear pictures; you don't have to be artistically inept to understand them.Second, the installation process is very easy. Bear in mind this is my first bike computer; it only took me about 10 minutes to look at the pictures and install it. A brief run through; install the sensor/ magnet a few inches away from the rim, and make sure the sensor is less than finger width away from the magnet, but not touching. Next, make sure the computer is installed on your stem parallel to the ground (if you have your stem 'slammed', this won't be an issue). Of course this is only for installing, not setting up the computer ~see manual~Aside from these, the whole shebang really bangs. Now I'll sum up the good and bad:Pros:Very cheapVery accurateComputer is easy to remove, take almost anywhereEasy to read/ understand what's shown on-screenVery small, very light (for all the weight weenies)Easy and quick setupCons:Computer is VERY small, can easily be lost if misplacedExtremely hard to see screen at night, requires good amount of light to see anythingZiptie mounting of computer/ sensor is somewhat flimsy, sensor may move if not tight enoughNot bluetooth or ANT+ compatible, only works with given sensor (not much of a con if you ask me)Something I read, though not sure if true, is that electronics like a phone or light may interfere with proper performance, will update on that laterThings to keep in mind:I just received this today (01/07/21) so I may have missed some things, will update after putting in some miles. Also, the computer may be placed on a compatible strap or mount, so that's another thing. Another important thing is the screen not having a back light, which is a big issue for night riding, especially in dark areas. Something I wouldn't per se recommend, but would do if you're willy and very, very confident, is to apply super glue between the sensor and it's mount; again I would only recommend if you're REALLY confident in the placement of your sensor (may require parental supervision). All in all, if you're looking for a good beginner bike computer at a competitive price, you landed in the right place. Though it may have one or two flaws, they can be completely worked around.
