Made candy at Christmas time. It works just fine.

Just what I needed to make sesame brittle

This is a classic candy thermometer -- it's good quality and easy to read. I use this for making maple syrup and making sugar fondant patties for winter feed for my bees. Would recommend! A+

I bought this as a gift for my Dad. I've used this brand candy thermometer for years to make my infamous Almond Roca and it has worked well for me & does not scratch your pot like others do. The temp marks are clear & easy to read. My candy relies on using a thermometer & turns out perfect every time.

I haven't used it yet, but it is pretty similar to the one I had before except this one has a tube chart with temps for different things, like hard candy, oil for donuts and so on. I love these thermometers it makes cooking so much easier.

This worked perfectly for me. Other reviewers said that if it was against the side of the pan, that is what would be measured rather than the content. I used this 8 times making Christmas candy and every batch turned out perfectly. It does cloud just a bit when heating, but once you touch and wipe it (not hot) it stays clear.

Good candy & oil thermometer. The only fault I found was slight. The clip could be stronger, thus enabling it to fit tighter on the rim of the pan. UPDATE: After making peanut brittle (which I have made without problems several times with old thermometer), I question whether there is a question with accuracy. Brittle was 'sticky' which indicates that it did not reach the correct temperature. Had to take a rating star away & would NOT recommend @ this time.
