This perfectly suits my needs for checking the water temp of my souvide ( I make yogurt). It is super simple to use: push the button on top - that’s all! Other features: It has an adjustable clamp for depth, the reader can swivel and tilt, it has optional Celsius. It already has a battery ( be sure to open the battery compartment and REMOVE the little paper that preserves the battery) and it comes with a spare! It also has a probe cover/protector for storage. Note: my version came with a 15 minute cut-off, which suits me. The seller let me know they also have a 90 minute cutoff version.The seller really cares.

I have the same problem as someone else reported. The thermometer just doesn't work, and I believe the battery is dead. I ordered it on January 17 but didn't try to use it until today, March 2, so it's out of the return window. When I tried to look further into it, it was stated that it can't be returned. I will just have to guess at the water temperature for the bread I want to make today, and buy something else. Bleah.

The numbers on the thermometer are very easy to see and the top of it pivots so you can easily view it no matter whether you are short or tall. We have not used it yet but I think I’m gonna like it. We have old fashioned thermometers which are hard to see and this one will be a joy to use. It comes with clamps to fasten to your saucepan and also had a protective plastic sheath which it slides into.

***I'll keep this one at 4 stars only because there's no way to contact the vendor directly if there's an issue. I'm happy to report that the replacement unit worked fine.***I'm upgrading this to 3 stars because of the response from the company. They reached out to me after this review a offered a refund along with a replacement unit. I have not had the opportunity to use the replacement and hope to be able to further upgrade my review.***Independent reviewer. I purchased this to attempt to make caramel at home, which cooks to 320F. This claims to go to over 500F. Around 280F, this is what happened. I ended up using my meat thermometer by hand until it reached the proper temperature.When I tried to get product support, it brought me to and endless lop of, "try another resolution." All of the resolutions were to clean the battery compartment, except mine is brand new. Extremely disappointing purchase.
