This works great. I've been using it to mix mortar and concrete. Once you find the volume needed for a bag / weight of mix it gives a fairly consistent results. I've been impressed by the repeatability of this unit.

I have a backyard pond with a automatic fill valve to keep the pond topped up. It is connect to the faucet through a bury line. My biggest fear is that if the bury line bust and I am away, it could run for days.I bought this water flow control system to monitor the volume flow. I programmed it to shut down after fixed volume. I just need to clear the typical pond top up flow volume now and them. Peace of mind when I am away.

Its fine for my purposes - I didn't use the valve it comes with. The button/menu navigation is extremely clunky. I wasn't able to get my device to switch from C to F... the unit simply doesn't respond as described in the manual. But, otherwise, it's fine.

I just needed this as a water meter to use in my RV so I know how much water is left in the tank. Works quite well for that. Physical install was pretty easy. It did take some time to figure out the "K" value as it wasn't specified. K was set at 1.5 from the factory. Trial and error (weighing a gallon of water, changing the K and doing it again). Proper K value turned out to be 26. Of course that only has to be done once and now it works great.

I set this up with 3 different kinds of fittings, pex, etc 1/2 inch and nothing worked. As soon as it hit 45 psi ALL the fittings leaked. 45 psi is NOT a lot of pressure for a water line. Non of the pex fittings leaked, it was ther threads on the meter. This was a complete disaster and a total waste of money because of all the fittings I purchased to try to get it to work. What garbage.

Was well packaged and works as advertised. I bought this so I could measure brine waste water volume and RO water volumes from a DIY seawater water maker. This unit replaces the need for flow volume rotameters traditionally used. Bright LED and crisp display are perfect for my application. One needs to work through the Use Directions slowly for each function to see how the unit works. I would recommend this unit fully. Do note that the plumbing threads are BPS (British Pipe Straight) and are not NPT (USA-National Pipe Tapered), thus some care is required to make fittings watertight. Will be buying more of these units.

I'm currently using two of these for measuring waterfall flow on a 1.5" pipe on a pond, as well as a 1/2" for timing and measuring how much water I'm filling the pond with. It allows me to refill a certain amount of water when combined with a solenoid. It was a great addition to my pond and the parts are high quality.

I installed this in my RV to track my water usage (since the built-in tank level sensors no longer work). It's an interesting unit, and well made in many ways. Unfortunately, it has at least three big problems. The first big problem: Physically, the provided flow sensor has relatively short male threads on each end. If you attach it into a regular 1/2" PVC threaded connection the shoulder of the sensor bottoms out before the threads become tight. This results in a leaky connection. After many iterations of using Teflon tape, and then pipe thread sealant, the connection still leaked. I finally had to reduce the length of the threaded section of the female PVC fitting (by cutting) to enable the threads to tighten before the shoulder bottomed out. This was a huge hassle. The second big problem is the K factor. Even though the flow sensor is provided in this kit, nowhere do they tell you the appropriate K value for the sensor! (Yet, the provided documentation says to use the K value provided with the sensor that you are using.) As a result, you are forced to attempt to determine K on your own. Not only is this time consuming, it also turns out to be incredibly frustrating due to a software problem. I am currently using a K value of 28.00, which seems to be roughly correct (within ~5%). I have seen posts here with radically different K values, although I have no idea why that would make any sense. The third big problem is the software, specifically as related to the 'Total' value. The instantaneous flow rate value seems to track the flow reasonably well. (I can't vouch for the actual flow rate numbers, but as you adjust the faucet, and vary the flow, the flow rate numbers track the change, increasing or decreasing appropriately, updating at least once a second, or faster. It also seems to track even the smallest flow rates, so it never seems to "miss" any flow.)Unfortunately, the 'Total' value does not seem to be continuously updated, nor updated reliably at all at times. If you watch the 'Total' value while running at a constant flow, you will notice that it will show the same, unchanging value, for many seconds at a time. Then it will jump to a larger value. This wouldn't be so bad you could rely on the value being updated within a few seconds of cessation of flow, but you can't. I have observed multiple cases where the 'Total' value never updates once the flow is stopped, even though there were many seconds of flow since the last time the 'Total' value was updated.I've designed, built, and programmed many devices over the years, and I simply can't imagine how they managed to get this wrong. The 'Total' value should be constantly updated to reflect the current state. If CPU resources are a problem, it may not need to be updated as often as the flow rate, but it should be updated at least every few seconds, including after the flow stops.

I was going to build my own controller but then I found this product which did everything I had designed mine to do and more. It is well designed and has nice features. Instructions are good except for the installation of the solenoid valve and flow sensor, which have no info. They need a bunch of adapters to interconnect to more common 1/4" or 1/2" water lines and they are NOT easy to find. I decided to replace them with 1/4" quick connect parts because they mated better with the water filter plumbing. It required replacing the electrical connectors to the controller but that was much easier than dealing with plumbing adapters and leaks. Another issue is the calibration of the K factor for the sensor. The manual says to consult the manufacturer of the sensor but they don't provide data even though they include the sensor. It takes trial and error to get the right K factor for the flow sensor but once it's set it stays pretty accurate. It also includes a temperature sensor but the sensor wire is very short and the manual does not explain how to incorporate it into the plumbing. I had to modify it so it could be dropped into a filling bucket.

I've been using this meter for several months now in my gourmet mushroom operation and absolutely love it! One thing to keep in mind. The valve is closed until the solenoid receives the voltage to open. This is critical to understand if you're going to be keeping the valve open for extended periods. The solenoid heats up quite a bit when it's open for an hour or so. I can't imagine what it would do if it was left on all day. This technically is not a problem for me because it's only open a few seconds but I wanted to make sure others are aware if that's what they are wanting to use it for.
