Greek yogurt is so much more expensive than regular. This has saved money for my family. It has paid for itself already in the time I have had it. Very simple to use and clean. I use this regularly.

I got this to try a thicker yogurt like the greek variety, and it worked well. I was able to comfortably put a cup of yogurt in it without it being overwhelmed. The design is simple and intuitive to use. I was able to clean it pretty easily with some hot water, soap, and a sponge. Im sure the dishwasher would be fine, but why bother?

This is actually a fairly well made unit. The plastic is thick and sturdy. The lid closes down tight. The spring is strong. If you know how to make Greek yogurt, you don't actually need instructions. My wife took this out of the box and immediately started a batch. One of the problems she ran into is getting the spring seated exactly right so it wouldn't pop out to the side and mess up the process. But once the spring is in correctly it speeds up the regular process. She makes larger batches in her larger strainers. When she wants a small thicker batch faster, she'll put it in this strainer and it speeds up the process by actively pushing the whey out instead of waiting on gravity to do it. The drawback is the smaller quantity it yields. So it works but it loses a star because the spring can be troublesome.

Works great! I have recently started making my own yogurt to help with digestion. The yogurt has been a little soupy so this has come in very handy! I love how easy it is to turn my homemade yogurt into Greek Yogurt with this yogurt maker. It is also very sturdy and durable. The cheesecloth that it comes with makes clean up a snap. I am very pleased with this maker, the design makes it so easy to use.

I make 1 gallon of whole milk yogurt at a time in the crock pot. This little gadget is waaaay too small. Wishing they had a much larger size available so that I don't have to do so many batches. You can only strain about 1 1/2 cups of runny yogurt at a time. After straining it only amounts to about 2/3 cup of yogurt. I left it in the fridge for ~48 hrs (kind of forgot about it...) and when I opened it up, the yogurt was like a thick cake!...48 hrs is likely too long for straining for most use cases for yogurt, but it's still tasty!Aside from the size, my biggest beef with this gadget its the level of construction. The spring easily detaches from the lid and the mesh screen which makes removing the mesh from the canister very difficult - it's covered in yogurt and is very slippery, not a lot of places to grip onto. I understand how others many like plastic gadgets, but I'm big on reducing plastic and synthetic materials when I can. I wish that there was an option offered where the basin was glass and the synthetic mesh was super fine cotton cheesecloth.

This is a nice way to make Greek yogurt. Previously I would hand a cheese cloth from the cabin and have the liquid fall into the sink for a good amount of time before having my Greek yogurt. However this help make the whole process a lot more simple and cleaner. First of all you still need to strain out as much whey as you can, you can do that by putting your yogurt into this strainer then pouring it off and then add the press and leave it in your fridge. Just make sure to check how dry to want it, if it get too dry then just add back the liquid and mix.

This yogurt strainer is too small for most individual needs. I have a similar strainer that will easily filter 1 quart of yogurt with a compression spring that cost about the same price that I use every 7-10 days. With this I would be making yogurt every 3-5 days. I will probably use it occasionally for small batches of labneh cheese. The strainer is easy to use. Simply take your yogurt (homemade or store bought) and add it to the strainer cup. Insert the cup in the outer canister and secure the lid (with or without the spring). I recommend using it without the spring first. I you are satisfied with the result, there is no need to clean the spring and the compression plate. However, if you want your yogurt thicker, you can apply the spring and compression to the already thickened batch and strain it further in the refrigerator. Tip: save a little of the liquid whey in case you want to thin your yogurt for other uses. To do this, simply whisk some of the whey into the thickened yogurt until it is smooth and creamy.Overall, this is a good yogurt maker. I deducted a star because of the small size and cost.
