Great size and works great. So easy to use. Fill it at night and perfect yogurt in the morning. Two hours in the fridge and ready to eat.

I just poured in my first batch of yogurt, using a recipe from a book I'm reading. This recipe calls for 100°F, for 36 hours. This yogurt maker has NO temperature adjustment of any kind. I cannot find anywhere that it states its operating temperature. Additionally, it stops the timer at 19 hours, I cannot attain the required 36 hours called for in my recipe. I will have to set my phone alarm to notify me of when the 18 hours setting is reached, and I will run it for 18 hours more.My fault, I didn't know to ask these questions up front, that's why this is a two star rating, rather than a one star. I will update my review, once my next couple of batches are completed.

No way to control the temperature for yogurt making. Not a yogurt machine. Don't know what this thing does.

I can't have dairy, and store-bought non-dairy yogurts are full of fillers, stabilizers and more, plus the plastic containers just accumulate around the house. Finally, I decided to try homemade non-dairy coconut-cashew yogurt, bought this, and I couldn't be happier. Simple to use, and yogurt is perfect every time. I just use about 1/3 cup of the previous batch (3 probiotic capsules the first time) for a 3-ingredient yogurt without any weird additives, and it honestly just gets better, thicker, and tangier with every batch. I have been using it for about a year and have fresh yogurt every morning. Also, I love the fact that it's a single container, not a bunch of small jars to juggle. Recommend!

It works fine, and i like the fact that there are basically only a couple of buttons, and it does't take a degree in physics to figure out how to get it going. (except you do need to push the go button again after you push it to start. Has to do with how long you want it to go... But i always let it go for 10 hours. So the first time i was la little confused)But criticism #1: It is too small. We consume a lot of yogurt and it's a drag needing to clean this out and find containers that will hold this amount while we make another batch.#2 The other thing that's a little annoying is that because it is a square shape, it's a bit hard to clean the corners. It it were round, one could just sweep one's rag, or fingers or sponge in one swoop and clean it out quickly & easily. Since i use it more frequently than the dishwasher fills up, it's just a minor irritation to have to wash it by hand and get the stuff out of the corners. But essentially i do like it a lot!! And it does work!!

Used the Yogourmet 2 liter size in the 90's but couldn't find one anymore so I purchased this.Glad that I did! My first probiotic batch came out "perfect" after 9 hrs incubation. My second batch, using some yogurt from the first batch, also came out perfect! And I flavored that one with sugar and vanilla. Store bought doesn't come close to the taste and texture of my yogurt! It's also smaller than the Yogourmet. All in all I highly recommend it!

Easy to use. Easy to clean. Wish it could make more than a quart at a time. I make yogurt 3 times a week. Saving money and love experimenting with different types of milk and flavors. I’ve made chocolate, vanilla, caramel, pumpkin, peanut butter. My cat loves the pumpkin and peanut butter. He gets a teaspoon twice a day.Best thing is the timer that shuts off when it’s done. I can set it to brew the yogurt while I’m sleeping! For the reviews that mention the fasteners breaking on the inner container, easy fix: put the container in a plastic bag, 1 gallon size works well, and put the bag with the container it in the maker. You can put it in and take it out using the bag. Plus you can use any container that fits in the maker. As long as you bag the container, you can put it in and lift it out using the bag.

I did not judge the size and couldn't visualize even with the measurements given. Came in a very nice box, compact and outside seems like stainless steel kitchen gadget. Looks very nicely made with temperature range and time monitor digitally represented and everything. The container seemed sturdy enough and I just loved the cuteness of it. I love new kitchen toys! But! It's very small. Maybe expecting slightly larger. Will suit one person very well but because of going through the initial process of yoghurt making, it will have to be done a 2nd time too. Although a second container can be bought from Proctor Silex for setting a second one in to solve the small quantity problem. There's a review here stating that the tabs break. I thought of that too and good to order another couple. Also can use the same with a rubber band around it? Don't think the heat is high enough to melt the rubber. I have tested the temperature and it is constant at 110 degrees the temperature i placed the water in. 32 oz is not a small amount as that is the amount I make in my IP or myself, and bringing the pot out and washing/sterilizing the pot, lid and gasket, and others is getting a bit of a pain. This size at least is a no hassle, small-enough-to-keep-outside gadget, without having to sterilize big structures (IP). The only thing to sterilize with hot water is the small container plus lid, whisk, thermometer and spoon and the plate where these 3 are kept.I did not use it yet, I admit, as looking at the size I was thinking of presenting to a friend of mine who would love it. I am thinking of getting another one for her and keeping this for myself!Update: june 1st, 2020Made yoghurt in it after water testing. The yoghurt held temperature at 110. The problem of moisture under the lid i solved by placing a doubled up piece of paper towel cut according to size, on the underside, then snapping it shut. It worked as then it didn't drip in the culturing yoghurt. I started with boiled water poured on the lid, the container and other instruments to be used. Dried them upside down on clean dish towel. Used instant skim milk powder 1 sachet, water 3 cups, 1 cup evaporated milk and a slurry of 2 tsp cornstarch in a little milk before placing it back in and heating to 180 degrees. Of course 2 tablesp of starter; Stonyfield's. (After heating milk to be 180 and then cooling to 110 ish. Without cooling starter will die). Heating to 180 and cooling to 110 F in he sink was also done. I used what was present in the house and incubated for 10 hrs. The result is in the picture. Solid chunk of greek yoghurt like consistency. I was pleased! And i have decided to buy another for my friend for her to make yoghurt during these times. Only really bad part it is i paid 39 and now it is 29. I wonder if amazon will refund me 10. I also made soy milk yoghurt, equally creamy and thick (with of course with some cornstarch as an aid in thickening and 1 tablesp of honey for bacteria to feed on. Next I plan to use canned coconut milk and cream. I tried So Delicious almond milk and didn't turn out the way I wanted to; has too much water. Used agar agar as thickener, and it was like opaque, sour-ish (it still was edible yoghurt) jello-like consistency. Could have been that my starter was old.Do not see the numbers for this very convenient and foolproof yoghurt maker Surprised. Is one of the easiest and best little gadget out there and still holds a quart of milk. I actually bought two, so when I have some people over for dinner, i can have both of them going to serve yoghurt and fruit parfaits.Update: July 3rd, 2020Still producing consistent results, regardless of the type of yoghurt. Made canned coconut milk (2 cans) yoghurt with 2 teasp of sugar and 2 tablsp of plain yoghurt and incubated for 11 hours and it was the same thickness as the skim milk yoghurt in my pictures. The last picture is the canned coconut milk yoghurt, incubating for 11 hrs. Exactly the same so I think this gadget is really well designed with reliable productivity. Now to try oat milk and cashew milk.

This yogurt maker works very well. I do wish the instruction booklet had a few more recipes in it, but that's separate from the unit itself. I also think that for as small as it is and otherwise uncomplicated (simple, limited features/design), it's seems overpriced to me. On another level, I had ordered a yogurt starter, but when it arrived, it had already expired 3 years ago (it was refunded). So, concerned about running into that issue again, I instead started using about a 1/2 cup of an existing batch of yogurt as my starter -with multiple active cultures- and the results have been great. No separate yogurt starter is even needed. I do need to make yogurt on pretty much a daily basis. [And, I strain it in order to make Greek Yogurt.] For my husband and I, one batch only lasts 2 nights-at most, especially since I use some of the yogurt as my starter for the next batch. But, bottom line, the unit does what it's designed to do well, is easy to use, and the components are easy to clean.
