I have not checked this item for accuracy, but I have used it quite often since it was delivered. I don’t stress over working to close to the chuck as I have in the past. This allows me to extend the stock out of the chuck just a little bit and still have tail support.

Overall, the product is a substantial tool, but it has a HUGE issue: If a tailstock/tool/bit/etc you insert is not long enough to appear in the cutout window, it can get hopelessy stuck. There should be a hole through the bottom so you can use an extractor tool to push out the tailstock/tool/bit/etc. that was inserted.

As others have mentioned, be cautious if using with a shorter tanged/tapered drive or live center. If too short, extraction from the extension may not be possible.

Great idea, and they work well on my Shop Smith. Only issue is short MT tangs are hard to extract.
