About this item

  • Multiple effects in one box
  • 3-Band EQ
  • Overdrive
  • Compressor

Your one-stop shop for bass tone-shaping, the downtown express bass multi-effect puts everything you need for killer bass tone right at your feet. All the bass essentials are there—compressor, 3-band EQ and overdrive switchable on its own, or you can use the mute switch to kill the signal for silent tuning. The direct output makes it easy to integrate this pedal into any performance situations or studio. We recognize that a truly powerful signal chain needs to be flexible, so we included a switch that lets you reorder the compressor and overdrive circuits to taste. Designed by Alex Aguilar, the downtown express is an all-original Fender circuit. To ensure this pedal is performance-ready we let musicians kick it around, took their feedback to heart and refined it. The chassis is crafted from lightweight, durable anodized aluminum, and the LED-backlit knobs show your control settings on a dark stage at a glance. Use the downtown express on your next gig or session and add some rumble to your rig.

Nothing special. The overdrive sounds fake and useless. The compressor is ok. Equalizer is fine. There are some nice DI features but overall not a fan.

Played through this on a J bass, a P Bass, and a Mustang PJ bass and sounds great. No matter what bass you have this will aid your sound. Must need for all basses.

A great to use and sounding effects pedal to use with a bass guitar. Great quality material used but the only thing is you will need to get a separate external power supply but I managed to pick a boss one up from my local Music Store.

This is a great all in one Bass pedal.+ EQ is fantastic!+ Overdrive is surprisingly versatile+ The output connections are super handy, especially the XLR for mixers.- Compressor sounds good, but it's super noisy.- There's a loss of signal strength on he regular TS output, can be fixed with a buffer pedal on the input jack. I use a Polytune 3 mini tuner that has some buffer.I do recommend this pedal, I think the small issues are minor compared to how massive your bass will sound even without using compression.

If you're looking for a decent all in one bass pedal, this is a good choice. I purchased it because it had very good reviews from professional bass players. It's a newer product, but the developer has been designing bass pedals for decades. Compressor, overdrive, equilizer, mute, XLR and chinch output, everthing you need in a single box. The sound is great, it's like day and night from the sound that my (expensive) Fender bass puts out, and what this adds. Only drawback: You have to buy a seperate power supply.

The Fender Downtown Express has everything I need — Compression (with monitor LED), EQ, Overdrive, and an XLR Out.It’s beautifully designed and well crafted, as one would expect from a brand like Fender. I love the gold finish and backlit knobs.I’ve been looking for a DI to replace my SansAmp (which didn’t cut it for me). I was initially considering a Darkglass pedal but they’re so expensive. The Downtown Express is priced extremely well considering the quality and capabilities of this pedal.I love the sound of the overdrive. it doesn’t have a blend knob, which I thought would be a dealbreaker, but I’ve been I’m able to dial in a fat and crispy drive tone without losing the low end.I keep the drive knob down pretty low. However, it can get pretty distorted if you need it to. For my needs, I wouldn’t ever turn it past noon (a little goes a long way). The compression does exactly what I need it to. I never turn it off. The sustain is massive.I don’t mess with the EQ too much, sometimes I’ll boost the bass or the mids depending on the context.I usually run it through my Fender Rumble amp or use it as a DI at church.I would definitely recommend this pedal.

For years my go-to was the Sans Amp Bass Driver. While that DI is still a great option, I needed a DI for a new church bass rig and wanted some compression and overdrive all within a single pedal. I discovered this pedal and decided to give it a try. It is amazing in every way. It’s super versatile and extremely easy to get a variety of great tones. Very clean, very quiet (no noise) and super easy to use. Great bass DI!

Pedal is amazing, 5 stars all the way as far as the product, first one I received was dropped hard enough that the corner of the pedal had busted through the box, it was packaged in a bag with very little protection.

I am a bass player on a worship team and this bass pedal has exactly what I need without having to build a pedalboard. The EQ is great, the Overdrive has a nice tone to it, the Compression is good but is not the best. This product is for sure worth your money!
