Amazon.com

Designed for the serious woodworker, the Freud 99-519 Quadra-Cut - 3-1/2 Inch Dia. Cove Profile Raised Panel 5/8-Inch Stock Router Bit - 1/2-Inch Shank features a non-stick Perma-Shield coating and Freud's patented Quadra-Cut design for a smoother finish that requires no rework. Quadra-Cut employs four cutting blades, rather than the industry standard of two, allowing you to create raised panels for doors and paneling and produce decorative tops, plaques, and molding. Because it's constructed with Freud's exclusive TiCo Hi-Density Carbide MicroGrain material, this durable router bit is designed to last.

Quadra-Cut Design for a Consistently Clean Finish
The exclusive Quadra-Cut design uses four cutters for a flawless finish. This innovative cutter design works by utilizing two of the cutters for an upward cutting action, while the other two cutters simultaneously cut downward. The result is an amazingly smooth finish that requires no rework.

Produce Smooth Paneling and Decorative Molding
Use the 99-519 Raised Panel Router Bit on any table-mounted portable router that accepts a 1/2-inch shank for creating professional-quality raised panels on doors and paneling, as well as decorative tops, plaques, and molding. The resulting panels will exhibit a glassy smoothness, even when you're tackling cross-grain applications.

The 99-519 features a 1/2-inch carbide height that easily accommodates stock measuring 5/8 inches.

Durable Design with Protective Coating to Resist Heat and Corrosion
Freud equips all of their router bits with their exclusive TiCo Hi-Density MicroGrain carbide for maximum durability and cutting life. In addition, Freud shields their bits from heat, rust, corrosion and wear by coating all of their Quadra-Cut Router Bits with their exclusive non-stick, red Perma-SHIELD coating.

The 99-519 Raised Panel Router Bit is 2-1/2 inches long with a 1/2-inch shank, an overall diameter of 3-1/2 inches, and a large radius of 1-1/2 inches. Freud cutting tools are backed by the Freud Limited Lifetime Cutting Tool Warranty to ensure customer satisfaction with every purchase.

I bought this bit to make new raised panels to match the panels on some existing cabinet doors. The profile is just what I needed, and the bit worked flawlessly with my router table.

Makes easy work of creating cabinet doors. The bit is sharp. Several passes were necessary to get clean edges, but that’s to be expected.

Freud is known for quality router bits and this one is no exception. It provides a smooth even cut from start to finish. Almost no sanding needed to finish off. This is definitely a fantastic addition to your cabinet tool collection.

Freud bits are some of the best in the world. They cut clean and flawless even in the cross-grain. Always start with the cross-grain and proceed counterclockwise to eliminate any chipout.I've used this bit for 3/4 inch stock as well as for 1/2. The width can be as little as 1 inch and as much as 1 1/2. Super versatility. Great bit for raised panels or decorative edging.

I've decided that I will always buy Freud router bits because I've always liked them, and this bit is no exception. Right from the start this bit cut beautifully. I turned my router speed down to about 11,000 rpm because of the bit size and tested this on a piece of pine. The cut was perfectly clean with no chip out and no burning. I really like the Quadra Cut technology but with a bit this size, it tends to throw a good amount of chips all over the place, regardless of how good your dust collection is. No really a big deal to be honest, it just means a little more clean up. Overall this is an excellent bit that has given me great results several times now.
