Best $5 and change I ever spent! Much better than futzing around with the original and needlenose pliers only to have to fix it again and again. New one holds onto the mount SO much better!

I read that some other brands had issues clipping into the Garmin device. This one clips in perfectly.I have two mounts and didn't want to tug on the mount to get the ball out of the socket after each use. With extra clips like these, I can leave them connected to the ball and just unclip it from the back of the GPS instead. This should help keep the mounting system attached to the dashboard and also prevent the ball itself from getting worn and causing a loose connection from constant on and off. I'll now have this clip on each mount.

I ordered this for my Garmin Drive Smart device because the original part no longer held the suction cup ball tightly enough, and the Garmin device would swing lower as a result. It was very easy to attach this to both the Garmin device and the suction cup unit. I would recommend this part to anyone needing a replacement.

While this seems to be a good deal for the money it does not fit the Garmin suction mount. Much force must be used to connect it to the mount and it started to break apart around the ball mount after only one month. After six weeks it was unusable. The tabs around the ball had all broken off and the GPS was just hanging down with no way to position it.

So much force was needed to get the ball into the socket that I thought something would break. Once in, the fit is so tight that the mount is difficult to move on the ball. Maybe it will loosen up with use. The shipping took longer than promised, but I was notified when I checked tracking.
