This preamp adds a nice amount of tonal flexibility for a good price. I had a hard time getting a 9v battery to fit under the control plate of my squier jazz bass, but after routing the cavity out a bit more, it’s a tight fit, but it fits. Just something to keep in mind when purchasing.

Product arrived in time and it look like a very clean work. It fit perfectly in my Squire Jazz Bass. After I finish all the soldering work, I start playing my bass, it was disappointing! The sound from the neck Pick up in the lower frequency was not clear, it was fuzzy!!! I decided to send it back and look for a other active system. I see all the other review's, so properly I received a Monday Modell.

Great tone. Was skeptical because it was so cheap but it’s easy to solder and has great tone. Did have to use a dremel to make it fit though.

I was looking to get a simple preamp just to be able to get some bass and treble kick to my Fender American standard jazz bass and this little thing does the job. As others mentioned, plate is not the perfect fit and you will need to open some space to fit 9v the battery in but other than that I think preamp sounds pretty good.

I bought this to replace the stock electronics on my Fender standard Jazz bass. Incredibly, the stock electronics on the Fender bass were defective, and it would have been too much of a hassle to just replace it through the mail with another. So I ordered this Guyker electronics control plate. This control plate sounds and works great. But there are some serious considerations that aren't obvious on the sales page that you should consider if looking to buy this.(1) The control plate is not a "drop in" replacement. It has active electronics and requires a 9 volt battery. Your control pocket should have enough room for a 9 volt battery in addition to all the electronics; a stock Jazz bass pocket is not big enough. I had to use my DeWalt router to create a pocket for the 9 volt battery, which is hidden under the pickguard. It worked well, but many people probably don't have a router on hand or the experience to use one on their bass guitar.(2) The plate is not a standard Jazz bass size. You can see from my picture that the plate does not connect with the pickguard, leaving a small (~1mm) gap. It's not noticeable, and for me it's not that big of a deal. It could be fixed by using removing the electronics and swapping the plate with that from a standard Jazz bass.Overall: The product works as intended, and now my passive Jazz bass has active electronics. The knobs all work. The nuts were a bit loose on the underside of the control plate, but I tightened them up after I soldered the pickup wires into the breadboard per the instructions. If you are looking for an inexpensive option to upgrade your Jazz bass electronics, I'd recommend this product, but be aware that you may need to route a cavity for the required 9 volt battery if you have a stock Jazz bass.

A simple (but effective) drop in replacement for the standard Jazz Bass passive controls. A little soldering is required to put this pre-amp in, but it really is quite basic if you're used to soldering. The pickups wires from Neck and Bridge pickups need to be unsoldered, and the earth from the existing jack plug - and these need to be wired where shown in the diagram. You will also need to solder the Battery wires, and that's basically it. The battery will fit in the compartment if you lay it flat with modern Jazz basses, but check the depth of the control compartment before assembling, not ALL Fender Jazzes/Squiers or Jazz Bass clones will have the same depth. The Bass and Treble controls have a fair amount of boost available, and I set them Half way for most songs and boost and cut accordingly, Simply excellent value for the money :)

Don't get this if you can't solder. The battery wiring came unattached to the pc board (intentionally, I'm pretty sure). It wasn't hard to install, but just a heads up.Other than that, it's great! Looks good, feels solid and of good quality. Took me a little bit to find my sweet spot for dialing in various sounds, but overall I'm extremely happy with this preamp (especially for the price)!

Installed it on a Classic series Squire Jaguar bass. Installed Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pick-ups and this preamp. Put out a lot of power and sound quality is excellent even though it is limited to only bass and treble, no mids. Worked out fine for this Bass because the 9volt battery fit under the pickguard next to the P-bass pick-up. I didn’t have to scoop a spot for the battery in the control cavity of the body. You will need to solder your pick-up and battery cables to the unit. The module aligned perfectly with the screw holes and pickguard. And the controls are high quality and look great. Now the Jaguar is an active circuit bass with more tone options.
