I like the small size. The radio volume gets louder than I expected which is a positive. The lights work well. The crank seems cheap but did work. I was able to pick up a weather channel in my basement.

Ordered this has I knew we would be losing power due to winds and came just in time. Received it today and few hours later we lost power and they are saying we may be without for 2 days. The radio came fully charged which was great, the speakers work great and I was able to get reception inside the house, which is pretty good. We do have a large generator but some rooms as this front room isn't hooked up to it but the light from this radio is giving out great lighting and is doing the job that I needed. Very pleased so far will know more once I try powering up with the solar. Got this on sale but very worth the original price it was. It is small but was expecting it based on other reviews but I really don't mind the size. I do recommend this product

Right out of the box i noticed it has some weight to it. That means it has a decent size battery. I turned it on and immediately had crisp clear weather info from NOAA for my area. warning me of higher than normal tide that evening. I hadn’t even put up the antenna! The radio gets excellent reception and is able to fine tune some fairly distant AM/FM stations. My $700.00 AM/FM stereo receiver won’t do that without a power antenna. Let’s check out the hand crank. NICE! it feels solid with no real slop & feels ver nice as it turns. The light on the end of the unit is bright in all three phases. impressed! The reading light that is on the bottom side of the solar panel is very bright. excellent for reading, playing a game, maybe preparing a small meal or just about anything really. Great lights overall and all are sure to please. I have not been able to test the solar panel but i have read other reviews and people are very please with it, for what it is. The End opposite of the three phase light has a rubber flap that protects you on/off light switch, your USB port and your small USB in for the charge cable that IS included. This flap is nice quality and stays in place nicely..i guess i could go on. I have ordered more for Christmas gifts and one more for myself. Bad weather, natural disasters, or worse, this is a must have. Don’t just think about it, buy it. I noticed they are selling hundreds and hundreds per month. More & more people are getting prepared to deal with bad weather and god knows what else. I think its foolish no too.One more thing, the SOS distress signal is CRAZY LOUD. That alone is worth the price. For hikers or any person that goes off into the woods, drives off-road, boating..this is a great way to call for help..i’ll bet this thing could be heard a mile away. Run out of battery power? You have the hand generator and solar panel to keep things going. So glad i found this as part of emergency preparedness setup. ✌🏼

For you to understand my review, I must explain my very particular reason for getting this solar radio. I have an apiary, and with that, it comes to the task of keeping bears away. With that in mind, I do have an electric fence, but a very intent starving bear would endure the pain of the electric shock sometimes in order to get dinner. So I figured it to be a great idea to scare the bear before it reaches the fence, so I am also using two Solar Outdoor-Indoor Motion Sensor Alarm - Loud Noise Maker, Detector Strobe Lights with Alarm Sound and Barking and Gunshot Sound, featuring remote control by SENKEFEI SS, and two solar sensor bright white lights; both of them also purchased here in Amazon. Bears can get used to one thing, so a combination of different deterrents is the best strategy, so I decided to add a human voice to the mix. The trick is that it has to be a human voice and not just music, so this little solar weather resistance device having access to 24-hour weather reports seemed amazing. The reviews on sound quality, how long it could operate, and the hand crank were pretty accurate, but there were no reviews on the solar charging component. My business is in installing solar panels at homes, so I am very familiar with how to set them up and the expectations of cloudy days, but for reference to compare, I do have the electric fence, the loud noise, and the white sensor lights all being solar. But the comparison was unnecessary since this little radio completely failed to charge. I have been trying this little radio for about three weeks now, and the radio works for about three days every single time, so the solar component has not charged the radio even in the blasting sun. This unexpected outcome, despite my thorough research, has been a significant disappointment, especially considering my particular need for a radio that just works without me having to charge it every three days. So I would like to point out that either my unit is defective and does not charge, or the little solar charger that comes with it is just for pure entertainment. The picture shows how I have the little radio setup in my apiary. Although the company says that it is weatherproof, I wanted to play it safe and keep it protected from heavy rain, so I am using clear glass for that purpose. Many of my colleagues from my bee club were very excited about my discovery of this little radio for them to add to their apiaries, so I would encourage the company to fix this problem, and you would open a whole different type of clients that would want to use your "solar little radio".In conclusion, the little radio works for about three days, the hand crank works well. I did not test the lights, clear sound, appropriate sound level, "feels" well made, and charges with wire efficiently, but the SOLAR CHARGER DOES NOT WORK.UPDATE November 16: I was contacted by the seller a while back, and they offered me a refund. Please note that my original bad review was because my main need was for a solar "weather broadcast" radio, so it would work 24/7. So reviewing the rest of the unit without considering the solar component, it is a great little radio with clear, loud, sound. One thing that is very interesting: The crank chargers the flashlight quickly, so if there is an emergency, and you forget to have fresh batteries on your flashlight, you can just crack this device and have almost instant light to now find your flashlights. The radio has weathered well outside, but keep in mind that I do have a glass protecting direct rain, nevertheless, moisture could damage it if it was not built well. So, if you do not care or need the radio to be charged by the sun, this would be a great little radio for you!Thank you for reading my review.

Bought this AFTER I went through the storm so I haven't experienced what it can really do yet, but I did play around with it when I received it. It is nice! It comes with a short cord to charge it when needed/ if able. The reception is clear with an antenna (you know that's old school but much needed). It has the weather alert, AM and FM channels. The front flashlight is BRIGHT! There are ports to charge cell phone or tablet. I purchased for solar power purposes and the light where the solar panel is, is also bright. Not sure how long it will actually last (instruction do say). It has 4 blue lights to let me know it's fully charged for now. I will play with it some more but so far, I feel it will do its job.
