I have used a major name brand hitch ball lock for several years but have recently been taking a look at other locks. The simplicity and light weight of this one caught my eye. On this one, the key allows the ball inside to swivel and then it locks into place on the hitch. I don't think it would be easy to knock off with a hammer although I am sure it could be done with some effort.I placed this one on a trailer tongue with a locking ball hitch. It fit, which surprised me a bit. This would fit perfectly with traditional hitches with no lock on top.

This is a decent hitch lock. I have several trailers and several different brands of locks. This lock has some features better, and some not as good as some of my others.Better:- I like the concept of the captive hitch ball. This makes for a secure connection within the hitch. Most of my other locks just have a tab.- I like that it's one piece- no parts to lose.- Stainless steel- Stainless lock cylinder is harder to drill than the brass ones on my other locks.- Fits different hitch sizesNot as Good:- Thinner Construction on lock body- Minimal spot welds- "Sloppier" fit on trailer tongue.All-in-all I like it..
