Make sure you have a good grip on your drill, or it will get twisted out of your hand. These bits really take big bites!

I recently purchased the Irwin Tools IRWIN SPEEDBOR Drill Bit Set for Wood, 4-Inch, 6-Piece (1877239) and have been quite impressed with its performance. The drill bits are incredibly sharp and make quick work of wood, allowing for smooth and efficient drilling. The set includes a variety of sizes, which is perfect for different projects. However, I did encounter one issue: once you hit a screw, it's all over. The bits don't handle screws well and can get damaged easily. Despite this drawback, the overall quality and performance of the drill bits for wood are excellent. I would recommend this set to anyone who primarily works with wood and can avoid hitting screws.

Ainda não utilizei as brocas, mas só pela aparência pôde-se ver que são de qualidade. Antes de comprar assisti vídeos de testes feitos com elas.

These were perfect & great - quick, easy boring w/ my hammer drill (on drill) AND cordless driver in softer woods. Great value - holding up well.

Great well designed product, that makes making holes in most timber as easy as slicing butter.Have been using these daily for a few months and still reasonably sharp... Even after hitting a few nails.Would recommend for anyone needing a decent set of bits.

Overall these work well. However you won't want to use this in a drill with a quick release chuck. Reason being if you are going through say an I beam floor joist if sealed on one side by drywall or something, you might lose the bit. They don't cut the hole completely, but instead at the end of the cut rip through the wood but leave about 1/4 of the wood left blocking the hole. Usually with a longer bit you could ream this out and have a clean hole, however with these it's a bit of a pain to do so because they are so short. If you have a quick release chuck, because these leave that last pie-slice shaped piece of wood in the hole, when you pull the bit back the drill I had had a tendency to release the bit for some reason and it would fall out of the chuck on the other side of the beam. Id recommend a bit longer bit if going through wood. These are good for drywall though.

These 3 wing bits are so much better than spade bits. They're faster, they clear chips much better, and they are much less likely to jam up. They do require a drill with some torque, though. A good 3/8" cordless will run up to 3/4" easily, but I think a 1/2" drill is probably a good idea for 1" bits. If you have a side handle, use it.The 4" length is great, because it's plenty to get through 2x lumber, and it's short enough that many regular drills have plenty of room to drill between 16" studs, so you don't need a right angle. With a right angle drill, it'll get into some tight spots. This isn't a woodworking bit, so it will often/usually not make a pretty exit. It's for construction work. I've run the 6" size on extension to fish in ceilings, and they work great for that. The recesses allow the extension to lock onto the bit, so much less risk of losing it. Much better and faster than extensions that use set screws.
