I purchased this item on a whim hoping to improve the sound of my congas while seated. I was skeptical at first, but now I'm a believer! I noticed an improvement right away especially with the low end tones, and the congas have that nice "round" sound to them that wasn't there before. My sound guy even commented that he noticed a big tone improvement from previous, and he is a tough person to impress so I'm convinced these work. They really boost my tumbao by leaps and bounds. LP is often criticized as having expensive items, but these looked much nicer than the AA rounds. Overall, if you are looking for a noticeable improvement in your congas when seated playing, I recommend these hands down.

Here is some information about this product that I wish I'd known before I bought it.The rubber "asterisk" on the upward-facing surface is 1/8" thick. The rubber is firm and smooth. Tilting the conga slightly away from you while it rests on this stand works fine -- the bottom of the drum doesn't seem to slip on the rubber. The underside is sprayed with some textured finish, but it might not be enough to keep the stand from walking. Stair-tread tape applied to the bottom might do a better job. This product definitely increases sound output and bass presence. Its only downside is its cost.I compared it to LP's rubber conga feet (https://www.amazon.com/Latin-Percussion-LP637-Rubber-Conga/dp/B0009V8YXA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525451472&sr=8-1&keywords=lp+conga+feet). The feet raise the conga farther off the floor, but that doesn't seem to increase volume or bass over what the conga stand provides. The feet provide less stability than the base, they don't provide a sound-reflective surface, and they're a little more of a pain to use. Plus they smell really strongly of rubber. So I think the base is the better way to go.

They seem really well made and provide a lot of sound escape from the bottom while providing a solid, low profile platform for the congas to sit on. Very pleased with these.
