I got this for my husband to use in his shop because he's never gotten around to running a water pipe out to it so he could at least wash his hands. This thing is sturdy and it looks like it will last a long time, especially with the occasional use it will be getting. Also, we're amateur preppers, so in the back of mind, if things got to a certain point, we can always gather water in the blue barrel and use this to get it out in a somewhat sanitary way. I probably wouldn't drink out of it, but if you took the right precautions, I don't see why you couldn't. Overall, it's a handy tool to have on hand if you have a barrel, too.
