This is a preliminary review.I just got this rod. It's light and a little stiffer than some other switch and spey rods I have played around with.It is a little noodle though like a good spey rod and like a longer rod it's weight forward balance which will work excellent with a large arbor reel.I am going to give this a try out a couple ways before giving it another more in depth review.Right now I am thinking 9/10 size reel with 100 yards braid backing to mono running line attached to 20 ft 300 grain Skagit Head for one trialThen switching out for a 250g Skandi head 29 feet for another attached to the running line. Finally attaching a 8 wt weight forward floating line to the running line and swapping out the long butt section for the short one and using it as a standard trout rod.I will publish that later when the tests are done.

The performance and quality can't be beat for the price. Incredibly sensitive and well balanced.

My husband is so excited about his rod and reel and can’t wait to use it on the Skeena River in Canada!

I have a 4 wt 11 ft and now the 5 wt to use a commando shooting head with, big fun for micro spey that’s unbelievably cheap. Love these rods

7 weight 11 foot. RIO 425 skagit head and RIO shooting line. This rod seems decent so far. It’s forgiving, good feel. Has flex but has load.Good customer service. They helped right away.

This rod has beautiful action, and I’ll spend plenty of time in the water with this rod. The wraps aren’t the tightest, but for the price it’s hard to beat.

I couldn’t quite rate this five stars for either conventional or roll/Spey casting. It’s adequate. But with the extended butt installed it’s the best damned noodle rod I’ve ever used with 2-4 lb test mono on an ultra light spinning reel! I caught many brown trout with this on my first trip out, rigged as a noodle rod. Fighting large fish that turned down stream with the current was no problem. The long limber rod puts the brakes on slowly, and thus protects 4X tippet or 2-lb mono. It’s length enables “dredging” deep runs with nymphs, where long precise casts just aren’t needed. If value-for-the-money were the sole criterion for rating this rod, it would have earned a solid five stars.
