This is a great tagine and I highly recommend it to you. It's good for two people. Not only is it well made and robust, it looks good in the kitchen. I've had others in the past but this is far superior. Get a diffuser for it if cooking on a gas stove particularly.

I really like this product. It cooks the food on the stovetop as I expected it would. You MUST use a heat diffuser on the stovetop. I have a glass top stove. The size is good for the two of us, although you could use it to feed maybe 4-5 people. We had enough for 2 meals plus leftovers. My first meal cooked in it was the classic Moroccan Chicken and Preserved lemons. The 10” measurement is accurate, I measured when I got it and it fits my stove perfectly. The circumference is for the very bottom of it.

This hand-made tajine has a beautiful, simple design. Food has a lot of flavor using this. It takes a while for the tajine to get hot (I am also using a heat diffuser) but, once it does, it cooks food evenly and retains heat well after the stove has been turned off. Although it seems shallow, the tajine holds a lot of food due to the height of the lid. The product was late in arriving by a few days but it arrived in good condition and I would order from this seller again.

I was really impressed at how beautiful this was... a real handmade tagine. I have always wanted a genuine tagine and now I have one. It was impeccably packaged and beautiful. I used it for the first time this weekend doing Moroccan spiced chicken, zucchini, onions, green beans, and potatoes. It basted everything wonderfully and I am thrilled at how it cooked. Thank you very much! Very delicious meal.

This is a great claypot to cook tajine. I love it while it lasted. It cracked last night. Most likely my fault this time thinking for putting directly on a flame (even at low temp). That being said it is a great tool if you are going to do tajines I have done. This is a dish I cook at least one a month. I will miss it. As for size it feeds 6 peoples if you try to put more food inside the liquids will overflow which makes a mess to clean.

Arrived quickly after ordering. Well packed. Although this tagine did not come with instructions on How to Season It, I researched on the internet to find out how. Soak the top and bottom overnight in a sink of water. If it doesn't fit in your sink, perhaps you have a bucket that you can use. Thoroughly dry it the next day. After drying, rub olive oil inside and out. Place both the top and the bottom in a COLD oven at 300 degrees for 2 hours. Turn oven off and let the tagine cool in the oven. Wash with soapy water. Your tagine is ready to use. Also, there were no instructions about needing a heat diffuser. I use a gas stove and had ordered a heat diffuser to specifically use with the tagine. The heat diffuser is important to distribute the heat evenly on the ceramic bottom of the tagine. So far, I've made fabulous meals with the help of a cookbook and the ordering of Moroccan Seasonings. I wanted a tagine that had a vent which this one has. Don't add cold liquids to a hot tagine or hot liquids to a cold tagine. The bottom will heat up beautifully with a medium flame. Give it time to heat up. My favorite meal so far was a spicy kefta (lamb meatballs) tagine with preserved lemon. Ras-el-hanout is a moroccan seasoning that adds great flavor to any dish. I highly recommend it. This size tagine is large enough to cook a meal serving four. I wanted this one-pot slow cooking and was afraid to order a cast-iron bottom not knowing if it the food would get too hot too soon. They might be just fine, but I preferred the ceramic. The price was also right as the cast-iron tagines are more expensive. I plan to re-season it every 6 months.

I cannot begin to express how disappointing this tagine has been. I ordered this as a gift for my husband. He has traveled the world and is always excited by any opportunity to try new foods. When the box arrived, I was impressed with the care they took in shipping. When my husband opened the box we were both impressed with how lovely the tagine was. It was very handmade looking and rustic (we appreciated this a lot). There were no instructions provided, however my husband is a planner by nature and obsessively researches everything. We spent time researching dishes and spices and how to season and prep our tagine carefully. The vendors own instructions on Amazon clearly state that it is for cooking ON or IN the stove. It also says that no diffuser is needed when cooking with electric or glass stovetops. Our oven has a glass top but we even went the extra mile and contacted the maker of our stove to find out the actual temperatures that line up with the number indicators on our burners. We were told that 5 is around 295 degrees. We decided on a Moroccan Chicken dish and cooked it slowly for 1.5 hours on 3 and 4. We turned down the tagine to the lowest setting for approx. 15 minutes before serving. When my husband removed the lid we saw a huge deep crack that went completely through the base. It was only after washing it that we saw the extent of the crack. It ran from the center to the rim of the base and even went around the base halfway. We emailed the vender for a return. Their response was to ask what temp we cooked on and if the crack was leaking. We supplied the information and they responded by telling us that it is recommended to only use the tagine in the oven as it is not in direct contact with heat. I was flabbergasted! Why would you recommend this and not inform potential buyers of this information on the items page? They also stated that UPS will not pick up the package unless the original packaging was included. Of course we threw away the (plain) brown shipping box and bubble wrap along with all the other present packaging the day after Christmas. They then stated that they do not accept returns for used items (cooking once with great care is used?). They have offered to replace the base. We feel that isn't good enough. I wanted a tagine that we could cook on our stove and oven with and have flexibility. There are certainly tagines out there that can do all of that. We wanted something authentic and a fun cooking experience and instead we have ending up with a huge headache. I would certainly not recommend this tagine to anyone in good conscience!
