a lot of locations in government buildings don't allow for anything wireless, which is just ridiculously hard to find with today's standards. This device has an internal memory and a card slot, so plenty of space and means of file organization. It has a fantastic battery life. last all day and then some. easy to charge with a built-in usb-a plug, which is also how you upload onto internal memory, and a standard 3.5 audio jack for your favorite old school headphones. the audio jack thus far has had fantastic sound quality. i thought the issue before was my cheap headphones but it was the mp3 player i had prior to my idoooz. The MP3 player is light weight, has a comfortable almost velvety feel, and buttons that are the right level of easy to push, like they don't get pushed too easily in your pocket. you can back out into the menu to keep from skipping tracks if like me you are prone to leaning into it and pressing buttons anyway. The menu is for the most part pretty easy to navigate. I Never read the instructions and got it down fairly well but there are several points where the controls switch from using the up and down to scroll up and down to using the left and right to scroll up and down. I'm not really sure why but it doesn't get in the way of anything.also the player remembers where you stopped on a track from when it was last shut off. this sounds like it should be standard but it is not. this may not be a big deal for music but if a track is 30+ minutes long like a chapter in an audio book, words cannot describe the difference this little feature makes.

I really want to like this mp3 player. It was the perfect size for my kids to listen to audiobooks on. Unfortunately, after just 6 weeks of use, the headphone jack has "worn out". Headphones just fall out, there's not enough contact with the inside of the connector to either hold headphones in or play mp3s.Battery life is excellent, interface is basic but fine, and build quality overall seems fine for the price, but if you can't listen to audio, it's worthless.

I bought this originally in July to download my favorite music in order to play it over my old truck radio. I finally got around to doing this yesterday, plugged it into the computer and downloaded 20 songs easily. Being in my late 70s and not particularly tech savvy I decided to use my headphones and make sure everything was OK, and that's when the wheels fell off! Just like another reviewer. the headphone jack was way too loose in the socket to play properly. It's almost as if the socket is not deep enough into the body of the MP3 to hold the jack tight enough. Since it's well past the 30 day return date I guess it will spend the rest of it's life in the junk draw! Proves the old adage you get what you pay for.

Love this thing, it’s nice and small while still holding a good amount of songs. Battery life lasts really long and it’s super easy to add songs to it- the earbuds that came with it are surprisingly nice too, good sound quality and all. The interface/buttons are a bit to get used to, the radio can be a little bit finicky, and you can only put 100 songs in a single playlist but aside from that it’s all around quite solid. I give it a 9/10 I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a nice little MP3 player.

If you do not want the limitations of bluetooth and just a basic aux or headphones, this might be for you. It is not the highest quality music but it is pretty good for the price. I found it easy to use and with 8 gig (with a slot for 32 more) you can put a lot of songs in it. I use the shuffle feature and hook it up to an outdoor 100 watt sound system for get togethers, it does the job.

This is a great little MP3 player! I had one of these models over a year and a half ago before breaking it, and I had few issues with the user functionality, to my surprise, they've all been fixed! With the older version of this product, it was very difficult to browse files by artist and that's all been fixed. The buttons were also a little finicky to the touch that has been fixed and updated too. And the rewind/fastforward feature before was wayyy too slow and now it's a lot faster. So it's great if you want to fast forward/rewind through long format podcasts and lectures.Sony makes a comparable product for much more money, but with the updated improvements made, I think this is the superior product. It's thin and lightweight but the battery in this thing LASTS FOREVER.Very pleased that all the things I noticed that were wrong with this model previously have been updated and fixed. I highly recommend!

Been looking for a small mp3 to be used when skateboarding and decided to try this idooz unit due to the decent reviews. I don't plan on using this device as a voice recorder, hook up to car receiver, or radio. It is nice to have these options but unfortunately can't comment on those specific functions.Upon receiving it I was impressed by the size, the mp3 player is about the length of my index finger (3.5") and less than two fingers thick (1 1/8"). Fits in my pocket perfectly weighs less than my AKG earbuds. I did spend a few minutes reading through the user manual before touching the unit to try and get familiar with idooz user interface; it's really not that difficult to figure out even if you dive in blindly. I followed another reviewers recommendation on labelling songs using numeric values (the user manual clearly describes this process FYI).I currently do not have songs saved to this device. All my music is uploaded to a 16gb micro sd card (formatted FAT32) which the mp3 accesses quickly. It's a pleasant surprise how fast this unit is able to read all my music on the micro sd card. I've seen demos of competitor mp3 players lagging upon reading external card contents; not the idooz. The user interface makes it very easy to access too, once your in the music mode you simply hit the 'M' button on the side of the device and navigate to the card folder which is literally two clicks down. Another neat creature comfort is that this player's software remembers where you left off even if the music file is stored on your external micro sd. To be honest for something this cheap I didn't expect it to do this, most of the other players on the market will not take you back to your original music file especially if stored on the external card. The sound quality is identical to the 192kbps on my computer with the same earbuds and is able to get quite loud if you turn up the volume to max. Another nice feature is the quick track fade out when you toggle to the next song, there is no abrupt jarring stop. There are several preset equalizers stored but the stock setting is fine for the rock music I listen to.Ok, now that all the satisfactory things are out the way it is important to mention this device's faults. The rubberized coating sucks, it stinks up my fingers and collects oils from my skin littering the player with fingerprints. I would advise users to be careful not to get excessive sweat between the small spaces (buttons/card slot). This little thing is a little flimsy if you have big fingers and will log unwarranted hard button pressing on the navigation ring. You'll have to get used to precise pushing with medium to light force. Also, when navigating the menu left and right buttons (on the button ring) are used for toggling up and down through menu features. The plus and minus are exclusively used for volume control, so you'll have to get adjusted to this. I found myself trying to use the plus and minus to move up and down but had to keep reminding myself the left and right buttons complete these actions. My last gripe is how difficult it is to insert/remove the micro sd. I had to utilize a skinny pen cap to push the card into the internal locking mechanism to seat it. The external card needs to be pushed beyond the player's body deep into the slot before it locks in place; it sits recessed once seated. These issues don't really have a personal negative impact on the overall functionality of the idooz but it may make or break the experience for you so be mindful. Also, I don't think this player would be to forgiving if you consistently drop it so make sure you have it stashed deep in your pocket when doing physical activities.I'll update this review over the course of the next 6 months if anything changes. I honestly don't expect this player to last longer than 2 years. I know, it's sad that we've come to expect cheap devices like this to be disposable but for the cost I wouldn't mind buying another one for $25 (after 24 months of daily use). It's worth the cost/risk if you're on the fence.

Edit: just under the track listingsWhen I add mp3 files into a folder on the device as such:01 track.mp302 track.mp303 track.mp304 track.mp3It will list and play in some random way like this:04 track.mp302 track.mp303 track.mp301 track.mp3EDIT: Okay, I discovered two things -First, it will play your tracks IN THE ORDER THAT YOU ADD THEM TO THE DEVICE. So you may have to add those 8 or so tracks for that album in that folder one by one.Secondly - Maybe not. Maybe you'll get lucky. I put my 20 track meditation for sleep in all at once - and in that case, the tracks all went in correctly in numbered order. So it's a good enough device I raised my score from 3 to 4. And Additionally sound quality is good, and the ability to repeat only in a folder is something I wanted and it does that.I want the tracks to play in order, I do not have shuffle selected in the Repeat options. What if I want to hear an album folder of music in order??I got the device to listen to meditations/subliminals - which sometimes I don't need to be in order - but at night when I listen going to sleep, I have a folder with tracks that have ocean backgrounds and then I have a listing of the rest of the tracks are silent (subsonic) so I can sleep, it's a list of files that are all numbered and they need to be in order. I might have to return it. btw I tried all types of naming/numbering schemes*but note the edit to my review above
