I'm not sure if this is real bone, or a synthetic composite, but it's definitely NOT cheap plastic. It cuts and files well. No galling when filing (like you'd get with cheap plastic nuts), and I've not noticed any snags or drawbacks.Had to file the girth of the nut down a bit to install on the new neck, but it filed nice and smooth and didn't give any trouble.Great value for cost.

Recomendable 100%100.

Installed in Debut series STRATOCASTER with serial number prefix CMCA........ , The nut (nuts received 2) arrived packaged well and promptly delivered. Looks great, slots for strings perfect. I could feel the difference in material (plastic vs. bone) quality. After easy installation tuned and played. Excellent MOD!!! Price is great, thanks MUSICLILY!!!!

I ended up having to carve this down, maybe a a few thousandths on the thickness, a millimeter on width, and couple millimeters on height. I understand having it be a bit too big to allow it to be adapted for use but i basically had to shape it from scratch with all the dimensioning. Should be much shorter, no one has a fretboard that tall.

Come tutti i prodotti musiclily, buona qualità a prezzo contenuto.

42mm nut is done about as perfectly as you can expect. Just a little sanding of the flat side to fit and it dropped right into a WD Music replacement strat neck. The width is just right and the string slots are placed just right. Even the depth and width of the slots needed almost no additional sanding for a .10-.46 string set. Of course I could shape the edges a little more if I want it to round off more but that is to be expected and also not really necessary. A real time saver and quality!

I installed this nut onto my 2017 Gibson Les Paul, the classic version in t-green. It fits but was too high. I filed it down to the right height & it is quite nice now. The strings are a little further apart than they used to be with the original nut but I don’t feel or hear any problems with it, it actually makes a little more room for my sausage fingers. Filing & installing took about an hour & a half

My Agile 3010se (les paul type) was ordered online. It came with an extemely high tusq nut. I was afraid to remove it so i tried to file it down and recut the nut slots while on the guitar. It worked for awhile till a buzz started on low E. The neck relief was perfect so i decided to try to repace the nut. it came off easily with a tap on a wood block. The bone nut from this vendor was perfect width and length for the dimensions i measured with a caliper on the old tusq nut. The base of the nut required a lot of sanding and it is very tough material. see you tube for how to's and check often on quitar with tension on e strings...It came out very nice .024 fret1 lo E .010 hi E....Sounds great better than tusq, tuning is ez and stable . Not super ez but doable with some sandpaper and feeler gauge. Nut slots were perfect for 10-46 strings..very happy with results

Exactly as described, very solid slotted perfectly, basically dropped in. I put this in a "very" inexpensive strat copy, made by Glarry. The nut included with the guitar is/was made of some kind of plastic which was a bit soft. This rigid bone nut makes a surprisingly big difference in the tone of the guitar, the strings resonate more clearly, and travel across/through the slots far better. The original nut was a little "grippy" and caused the strings to get caught a little bit, making tuning challenging previously. *I say dropped in, but the nut arrived slightly wider than the nut slot, but this is actually perfect, I passed the nut over a flat file a few times, testing as i went and BOOM! perfect snug fit, no glue. I cannot get over the improvement in tone!

Pack of 2 guitar nuts were perfectly suited for my guitars. After a little sanding and shaping, the nut is nice and snug and perfectly stable without glue (NOT recommended, I just didn't have the correct viscosity of Superglue for the job, but they will be getting glued in very shortly). The nut slots are not cut very deep, so the strings are held a good distance from the fretboard and will allow for plenty of wear. This means little to no string buzz on the lower frets, but if you need the slots a bit deeper they can easily be filed deeper with a nut file.If you're replacing a nut by yourself, be advised there are no instructions included,so you should already know what you will, and what you may, need to do. That said, I would still advise caution, the nut is more delicate than I anticipated, and will not withstand rough handling, so go gently. If you think the fit is a little tight, but you can gently tap the nut into place, you are wrong, it WILL break (trust me, it will break). If the fit is too tight, sand the nut down some more (always on the back side) until it fits properly. DO NOT force it into place, the fit should be snug rather than tight and it's not meant to be hammered in (apart from anything else, it makes it much harder to get back out again when it eventually needs replaced). These are perfectly good for the purpose they are designed for, when they are back in stock I will definitely be buying more. You never know when you will break or wear out a nut (and you will do eventaully), and I have another, brand new, guitar where the nut slots have been cut too deep at the factory. I don't want to use the old Superglue and Bicarb trick, at best it's only a temprary repair, so I prefer to just replace the whole nut. It's only a fiver for 2 nuts at the end of the day.Curiously, the decription states the nut is made of bone but the packaging stated it was plastic. However, the nut I broke did not break the way plastic normally does, it had no felxibility in it, so I think they are actually bone nuts.
