Im sure these work perfectly out of the box for a jazz bass or p bass. I bought a music man and had to sand this thumb rest down to about the thickness of an Allen wrench. I just used command strip tape (had it in the junk drawer lol) to hold it on until I figure out the best placement I want to permanently screw it down at. Who knows, I might just switch to the Heavy Duty 3M double stick tape. 1 inch holds like 15lbs. It will probably be stronger than a screw.

Do yourself a favor and drill a pilot hole screws and not the greatest quality. Other then that no problems as of yet installed two weeks ago.

My new bass had fanned frets, so the frets on the neck are at an angle, same for the pickups. This angle gives me no level surface where I can rest my thumb. I saw and ordered this product. The price was fair and they were shipped "Fast" and were the addition that I needed to resolve my issue. Thanks.
