I was looking for adjustable rails for our server cabinet. These looked perfect. Could easily extend to desired length. Easily adjustable and sturdy once the screws were tightened. Good price and no hassles.

Slightly too narrow for a R720 but a risk taken to not use OEM rails. Works great but not easy to take server in and out of rack.

My review is similar to others here. Steel is too thin and the supports were bent in the box. I've straightened them as best I could. Also, I've bought many server rack shelves and etc. and they always came with cage nuts. This company doesn't think you should get 8 cage nuts for the $44 you spend.EDIT: I increased the stars to 3. All of above is still true, however now that I've installed them, I do like them better. With all the screws in place and tightened, they're pretty sturdy in the rack.

Shelf is..well, a rack shelf. Using it for a UPS, works great. But the company deserves five stars across the board; I had lagged on my rebuild project and when I finally got around to it discovered that one of the rear extension rails was missing. I sent a message and all they wanted from me was to confirm my address, had a whole new kit within days. Excellent company, will be looking to them for future needs for sure...

Better than the earlier version. The only thing I wish they had was flatter panhead screws (or beveled slots for flathead screws) to give that extra bit of clearance. If there was one more set of slots towards the front so it could be attached in the shortest position it would be perfect. Still, right price, huge range.

The only thing that was weird was that it came with a bunch of screws that looked like rackmount screws (but no clip-in rackmount attachments) that ultimately weren't used for anything, and the screws that joined the front and back parts together were only four per side (there were six holes per side to tighten). It looks like someone screwed up what mounting hardware came with it, but I already have a bunch of unused rack attachments in a box so it's not like it mattered to me. Just pointing it out in case someone is expecting that it has the right mounting hardware out of the box. Five stars for a quality product, but they might want to do some quality control on what's going in the box.

Like others have said these rails will take up part of 1U..... but if you look at a picture of it then it should be clear why that is. So if you plan to mount a 2U server on top of it, make sure you have 3U of rack space basically.Assembly was simple, I mounted the front pieces and then back pieces of the rails followed by connecting the rails together with the 8 provided screws. I wish this unit came with 16 screws so that I could fill all 16 connection points I had between the front and back pieces but a trip to the hardware store will fix that that. Before anyone asks "will server fit?" just look at the depth specs, if you server can fit into that then this will work. It doesn't attach to your server, you just sit the server on top of the rails just like if you mounted a tray into the rack. I mounted a case on top that weighs around 45lbs with 15 drives and the rest of the server guts into it so.... ~60lbs mostly front heavy, and this rail system is holding it up fine. My rack depth is around 29.5 inches.

PRO:1: quality product.2: easy to assemble and install.CON:1: added some height to product using this shelf. holes for product (not shelf) where not as easy to use.2: the two screws that are used in front of the rackmount will push the case being used out. It does not (case) look flush with other servers on the rack.3: if you have a tight space between to servers this rail can only be used if the one above and below it is using the same rail system. Otherwise you need have some empty space above to accommodate the case being shifted up by the rails (shelf).4: Only comes with screws. you need to have your own nuts to attach it to.CONCLUSION:The product itself is a better rail system than the current slide im using now. This you be fine if you are using this rail system on all the cases to the server. i would (at least) like to see a flush mount screw assembly for the front so the server can be mounted properly.

I was worried about the comments that were saying that a.) these rails are unsturdy, and b.) that they hang down into other rack spaces when holding weight. Both of those are not true. They are sturdy, but they probably cannot hold much more than ~70 pounds fully extended. These are for 1u servers after all, so you shouldn't really expect them to hold your 4u cases. As far as the hanging down, yes they do angle downwards VERY SLIGHTLY into the space below, but if you have equipment in the space below then there isn't a problem because the rails fit just perfectly fine between units. The only 'con' is that these rails are a little difficult to make the perfect length for your rack. That being said, these rails are adjustable down to the millimeter, so they'll fit any custom rack if you're willing to spend some time on them.

I bought a 12-bay Synology NAS recently, but was a bit put off by the rail kit costing over $100!!!!I got these shelf rails instead. It took less than 5 minutes to get these into my 4-post rack. There weren't any instructions, but you shouldn't need any for something this simple. These shelf rails mount in a 1U space below, so you will not be able to have a device directly below the shelf. I don't like my rack completely stacked in anyway, so it's actually a plus for me.Most of my other equipment if pretty heavy (70+ pounds), so getting telescoping rails to properly mate on both sides simultaneously can be a chore. I think I'll just use these in the future for everything.UPDATE: I decided to get another three sets of these rails for an older, open rack that I have (pictures included). However, this rack has slightly wider spaced vertical posts, and I'm able to mount the the shelves to where they cradle the sides. With that arrangement, you don't lose 1U of space under the shelf, but I did still lose one square of post height per shelf (about 1/2"), because the thickness of the shelf (about 1/16") made the fit a little too tight to have the components stacked one on top of each other.
