The self adhesive does not work. We had to use the screws and glue.

These no-drill curtain rod brackets are a game-changer! Super easy to install with the strong adhesive—no tools or holes needed. They hold up well for lightweight curtains, or short curtains that dont really hold much weight (this is what I used them for) and the black color looks sleek. Just make sure to clean the surface before sticking them on for the best hold. Great solution for hassle-free curtain hanging especially wif you are tool-challenged like me!

These are no drill brackets but it comes with screws if you so wish to drill the bracket in place. I will be placing them on metal doors so I used the foam adhesive tabs that came with it. I first cleaned off the area prior to placement with alcohol to remove debris or any grease and let dry before applying the brackets. Be sure you know exactly where you are going to place them since adhesive is strong. It has a built in spring so it will hold on to your rod without shifting. Very nice

I got these in hopes of not having to put holes in my wall but each bracket one by one fell. Only one held out for over a week but then in the middle of the night, came right off. So, unfortunately I had to use the screws. It does look nice and with the screws plus the stickiness, it holds really well. I used light weight curtains too. I used this rod to cover my sliding glass door and it fit just righ with some overlap. It's lightweight but you will have to use the screws even if you don't put the rod on it.

I got these brackets so that we could hang a small curtain rod over our door window. The brackets seem well made and ideal for the task. While most people might want to use the adhesive backing, I did not want to regret risking the paint job on the door if I one day decide to remove the brackets. So I chose to mount the brackets with the included screws.I pre-drilled my holes, then went to screw the brackets into place, only to learn that these are not standard size Phillips head screws, but rather a smaller size. Apparently the makers wanted the screws to leave the smallest 'footprint' possible, so they selected to use screws with smaller heads. Okay. So I switched to a smaller Phillips drill bit and attempted to tighten the screw, but it would not tighten. And the more I tried, the more chewed up the screw head became. Two points to make here:1. I believe these screws were not designed with wooden doors in mind. The screws came with wall anchors, so they likely were designed to be drilled into the relatively soft plastic of the wall anchors, and not directly into wood. I probably could have drilled the hole slightly larger, but worried about it eventually becoming loose.2. The drill hole on the brackets is tough to reach with a standard short Phillips bit, because the bracket that will hold the rod is actually in the way of the drill (they are in a straight line, not offset). Consequently, the screws cannot easily be screwed in from a perpendicular position unless I had a very long tiny Phillips drill bit; which I did not. Rather, the drill may have to come at the screw from a slight angle. But, if the pilot hole was drilled to go in straight, then the screw will also want to be drilled in straight. My advice is to pre-drill the pilot holes coming in from a slight angle so that you will be able to position the drill straight when you screw in the screws. Yes, the screws will screw in at a slight angle, but it probably won't be easily noticed.Or, you could opt to go with the adhesive option.
