Pilot Hole
- First drill the hole in wood or plastic to locate or guide a screw and expand the size according to the tap. Without a pilot hole, the screw may get too tight and either broke the material or snap the screw completely.
Countersink
- Install the chamfer drill on the bench drill. If you need to chamfer 16mm hole, you can choose 15-20mm chamfering device. Add water or cutting oil to cool when chamfering.
Clearance Hole
- Finally screw on until flush with the horizontal. This bits should use the bench drill , it is easy to shake and it will affect the chamfering effect if you use the hand drill.

These made clean chamfers to counter sink a bolt. I've had others that did not. These are the best I've had.

I certainly didn't expect these to be amazing quality at the price point. They are fine and do the job , but I was surprised to see them just thrown in a bag together where they could bang against each other during shipping.I'm not cutting anything hardened, mostly wood and plastics with the occasional soft metal and they are doing the job.

This is a good tool set for the price. Works well enough on A36 mild steel. Kind of questionable if you really need a set of 5 sizes since the biggest and smallest in this set would cover every hole size in between. I'm sure it works better in a drill press than my hand drill, but I'm happy for the price.

The tool finish shows signs of economy with burrs on the thru hole bores, and clearly marginal Ti n coating. However, performance is superb on my need for countersinking 316 Stainless steel neatly. With quality cutting fluids the cutting edge gets under the surface with continuous swarf peeling off. Chatter free and fast, very happy.

Yes, as some other reviewers mentioned, these come with burs. However, the burs flake off with light pressure, and don't affect use at all. The quality of these isn't extremely high, but they're cheap and do the job well enough.If you're using these a couple of times a week, they'll probably work great. If you need a tool that will work for a production run of 1,000 parts, you might want to look at a higher quality tool.

Hands down, these are the best countersinks for wood, finish work. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THESE ON METALS. I find that the more aggressive looking countersinks work better for metal use.So far I’ve used one size for my purposes, but comes with three others that you may need. They’re small and large enough for small to medium size applications. Sinks clean and round with no mess or burrs when used with a drill press. When using a handheld drill, you get the same result, but the sink may appear to be oval due to the angle you’re drilling. After a couple of weeks running on the drill press all day long, the one bit I’ve used still manages to stay sharp. Take your time with them and it’ll last longer. Most importantly, they will countersink. Word of advise, drill a pilot hole first, it helps these sink in easier and true/straight. For the price, they’re worth the investment.

Ces fraises m'ont étonné ! J'ai déjà des tas de versions de fraises à chanfreiner les trous de vis. Plus ou moins bien, mais jamais parfaites. Le nouveau profil de ces fraises donne un résultat qui m'a étonné. Pas d'ondulations, rendement élevé. Remarquable. La qualité perçue est très bonne, même sans couverture "dorée". A essayer, surtout à ce prix !A noter que les commentaires qui sont supposés concerner uniquement de produit, s'adressent à d'autres types de fraises qui n'ont manifestement pas les mêmes qualités. Ça serait bien qu'Amazon fasse le tri !! car dans ce cas la moyenne des scores ne veut rien dire !
