Wasn't too sure about these until I used them on a rental kit in a rehearsal studio. They really add sustain and clarity to the cymbals and I used them with my own kit last week. I also bought the starter pack that has Cympads for the hi-hat.

I found this 40mm size to be the most useful of all their sizes offered, if used under the cymbal with a traditional felt on top. And this is subjective, cymbal to cymbal. Used on top, once the cymbal is struck, they ride up the cymbal sleeve and do not drop back down, as a felt will. So, they remain with up with no contact with the cymbal. You could make a larger whole in the foam but I decided to use traditional felt on top with the 40mm foam under the cymbal. Any of their sizes larger than 40mm I found to start to kill tone. Again, this is subjective and may be different cymbal to cymbal. My 18" crash had weirder overtones with the foam, so I used felt on both top and bottom of that cymbal.

I received a free pad and tried it out on my ride cymbal. I was shocked at the improved tone and sustain! I bought packages for both my church kit and home kit and the results for all are impressive. Don’t get me wrong, it’s subtle, but noticeable.Maybe not the highest priority purchase for those on a budget, but I recommend them. I’ve had them for several months now and as far as I can tell, they will last a long long time.

Decided to try these out on a whim and I changed all my felt washers to these. People say I have a cymbal set with some drums scattered in. My normal setup includes 16 cymbals so yes- I'm a cymbal freak. Not only do there prevent cymbal wear around the stem of the stand, but they provide a natural resonance to each cymbal unlike felt. I'll never use felt washers again.

I thought these were going to fall apart within days. My first set lasted 5 years. I usually went through felt ones within weeks due to rubbing on the cymbal sleeves. These things are amazing.

I've only recently purchased these, but there is a significant amount of resonances and low frequencies added with these. It should be said, that using these while on a cymbal stacker did not show a huge difference, but this may change from situation to situation. Regardless of this situation, I'll still recommend them to other people.

Within 5 min. of the crazy fast delivery and placing these on my cymbal stands, there was a clarity in overall cymbal sound. Riding, crashing, mallet swells, etc. = amazing! I originally purchased these to hopefully help an ongoing issue that I've been experiencing with the standard felts becoming compressed (my set-up is minimal angle, bordering on flat & low in height) to the point of having to readjust cymbals on the stand as I was playing due to the position changing into an unacceptable position for my approach to more intricate style that I'm working on. Now this is the first day of using these, but I'm more than pleased after putting in another 30 minutes of playing. Still can't get over the sound of my cymbals now!
