The portable foldable tripod stand for clarinet is a great addition for my daughter who is learning how to play the clarinet. It is sturdy and easy to fold. The stand provides reliable support and storage when my daughter is not practicing with her clarinet. It's no longer laying on her floor. When she is not using the stand, she is able to fold it and store it in her desk drawer.

My previous flute stand arms were becoming very loose to the point where it almost fell over a couple times when I shifted it slightly while in rehearsal. I finally decided enough was enough and this one, at least on paper, seemed to fit the bill, especially since the legs had locking mechanisms to keep them in place. The first thing I noticed when unboxing the stand was the heft of the base. It’s not excessively heavy or anything, but it is made out of a heavier gauge metal than I was expecting and gives it some weight which is good in terms of keeping my flute vertical. As for the actual legs, they’re attached with bolts/nuts making it easy to adjust the stiffness, unlike my last stand which was just rivets. The bolts admittedly make the locking mechanism not really necessary, but at the time I thought it was needed based on my previous experience. The mechanisms are easy enough to operate so they’re in not a hinderance. I’d rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them.As for the actual shaft portion that the flute slides onto, it’s just molded plastic. Nothing special, but the same 15.3mm diameter as my last stand. It holds my flute vertical enough without too much play and it’s easy enough to slide on while barely looking. Admittedly, the shaft potion wasn’t quite vertical when I first assembled it, but it only took a few seconds to bend it the little needed it to point more upright. If it wasn’t so easy to fix I may have pulled off a star, but it was easy enough and could have happened at any point during handling. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the stand and just wish I would have replaced my previous one sooner. As a side note, it is the same color combination as one of the bigger name brands, so at a glance it could easily be confused with a more expensive name. I’m positive that’s not an accident, but I’d have no problems recommending this to another flute player. I do wish there was a flute/piccolo version so I’d only need one stand, I’m definitely not the only person to play both regularly.

This stand is sturdy and versatile. It easily held my flute, clarinet, oboe, and even tenor recorder without a problem. Sadly I don't have a soprano sax to try on it (yet). It feels much more sturdy than my other flute/clarinet stands. It folds pretty flat to fit in a bag or front pouch of an instrument case (too big for a flute case though). This stand does have some weight to it, which is of course good for sturdiness but can make a bag or case that much heavier. Mine will live at work where I teach private lessons, so I'm not as worried about the weight, but it does help that it folds down so small, which makes it easier to fit in the storage box I have for my teaching accessories. The one maybe negative thing I noticed about it is it's pretty hard to push the buttons in to fold it up. It might not be great for a younger kid or someone with lower finger strength, or someone with lots of hypermobility in their fingers (like me). Other than that though, I absolutely love this stand and I won't hesitate to order another one if the need arises!

This little stand feels pretty sturdy. It comes folded up but has little ball catches that keep it in place when unfolded. The stem that the bell from the instruments sits on screws in and it takes about 30 seconds to put together. I have it sitting in my son's room as he plays Clarinet. When he practices, he no longer has to take apart and put away his instrument which saves time and actually makes him want to practice more often (since it's sitting right in front of him). Overall I'd highly recommend this to anyone whose child plays clarinet, flute or soprano sax.

I needed a flute stand and found this item on Amazon. It appeared to be sturdy in the photo so I took a chance. It has proven to be exactly that - very sturdy! The pin on which my flute sits is covered in a smooth plastic so that the inside of my instrument does not get scratched. Also, (bonus!) it also folds down to be quite small and lightweight for travel. When the stand arrived and I opened the box, a very strong chemical smell wafted out. I am not sure what the source chemical is, but it emanated strongly from the little rubber feet. It almost smells like Styrene...? The smell was strong enough to overwhelm the room in which the stand was sitting so I placed it out on the front porch to air out. It has been out there for about a week and the smell has almost entirely dissipated. I can only smell it when I put the feet directly under my nose. Once that smell is completely gone, this is going to be a favorite tool in my musician's chest! I'd give this item five stars, except that chemical smell was so strong.
