I needed for my action camera to sit facing me while riding my motorcycle and vlogging. Due to the nature of the way a normal Ram Mount extension is made, there wasn't a way to make it happen. So, I went to the Ram website and seen that they actually make an extension that can swivel to any degree on the opposite end. Bingo !!!! Problem solved !!

I ordered this for my 23 RG thinking I would need it but it was too long for the position I wanted my phone, but i will tell you that it holds strong and that why I've ordered from Ram. This isnt the first product from this brand. I'm sure they'll be something to use it on.

once mounted and the position locked down, it is so solid that you can use one finger!! You dont have to steady the phone body with your hand to work it, which is much better than most products like this which are a little wobbly. this is really really solid. the part i bought (Composite Double Socket Swivel Arm) is an upgrade component that allows for micro adjustment of exact phone position. i use mine in my car and it is like an airplane cockpit device - perfectly positioned in eyeline and rock solid for one finger operation! Every thing RAM makes is the very best, and this $20 upgrade component is worth it. i will never buy any other brand in this category now that i have RAM experience. Well worth the money.

I don't like to write reviews too soon after purchasing. I've had this on my motorcycle now for a few weeks and it's solid as a rock. The ability to rotate it at its centre before tightening it up made easy to position my phone at the perfect angle. I've ridden at motorway speed without any hint of movement. The only this I'll say is that I have a fairly large screen at the front of the bike so can't comment on how it would perform on a naked or cruiser without a screen. Definitely a great product though.

I got this because with a single arm I wasn't able to get my x-grip to rotate to where I needed it to be. It works OK, but as others have mentioned, there is a stepped adjustment in the center piece, that seems to be just exactly a smidgen more than can be adjusted out by moving the ball end, when it is perpendicular to the arm. if you have run out of room trying to move your attachment at the end, you know what I mean. With this double end piece, one adjustment is just too much on one side, and moving to the next setting is just a little too far on the next side. I was able to fiddle around and get an acceptable configuration, but a better choice might be two of the short and 1 of I'm not going to replace this since I got it working, but if I had to do it again on another installation I would go with the two arms joined with the ball socket.

I used this RAM product as part of a dash cam installation in my car, which has a long, angled windshield. As I didn't want to trust the suction cup mount included with the camera, I used a Ram Mount Rail Base with Stainless Steel U-Bolt over the rear mirror stem to begin the installation and then added several components, including a tee assembly to connect another leg to a RAM Mount Suction Cup Base stuck midway down the windshield to add stability as it extends nearly the full distance, suspended over the dashboard a couple of inches. There is no "bounce" in the system. It's rock-solid. I added a Ram Mount EZY-Mount Quick Release Adapter to allow for easy removal after simply unplugging the power cable, which travels over the RAM Mount system to disappear into the headliner over to and inside the side post and finally courses under the dash to the power connection.Like almost all RAM products, this is a quality item. It allows complete rotation, which was important to me because of the need to adjust the horizontal positioning of the dash cam. It allows for a level of flexibility unavailable with other RAM double socket arms. No issues at all. I'll purchase this and other RAM products again if needed.
