Thin Cheap metal. Too light weight. Had to stake unit down to keep from flipping over.

This product was a gift for my son-in-law, haven’t seen them on his camper, he said they work really good.

Welds were uneven which made the stairs not level. This stair was so lightweight and poorly constructed I threw it away. Stairs were wonky and uneven.

First, the good points about this stair assembly. The depth and rise between steps makes it easy and comfortable to walk up and down the stairs, and the handrails provides that extra stability you need if you're carrying something or have trouble walking. I weigh 225 pounds and am about 6 feet tall and it felt completely sturdy to me. It is also crazy easy to assemble, though I would suggest using your own 9/16" box end wrench. It'll probably take you twice as long to assemble if you use the once that came with the product. Now the not so good points (I wouldn't call them bad because it really depends on your situation).First, the height isn't adjustable. The top step is wider than the other two, almost forming a landing, and it is approximately 21.5" from the ground. If the threshold of your camper or motor home just happens to be 21.5" then you can stop reading - this is a great set of stairs. The rise between steps is about 7", so conceivably, you could get by with making your threshold the top step, so a threshold height of 28" or so may work as well. Obviously, you could use some 2x4s or other spacers to adjust the height if you need a few more inches, but you really need to be careful if you've got significantly different rises between steps - especially if it will be used by guests that aren't prepared for that unexpectedly shallow or deep step up or down.In addition to the height not being adjustable, the base consists of straight metal tubes, so there is no way to account for uneven ground. If you are parked in an improved campsite, you might be dealing with a graded, or even paved surfcae, in which case, you've got a sturdy set of stairs. But if you're dealing with uneven or rocky ground, not so much. To make things worse, the tubes on the base aren't continuous. They are segments bolted together so they may bend under a lot of weight if the base isn't supported along the entire length of the tube. When assembled, the stairs aren't too heavy to move, and the railings are held in place with some thumbscrews so they're easy to remove. But that's about as far as they go in terms of collapsing short of disassembling the entire unit. So depending on your situation they may be a hassle to transport if you move around a lot. When tilted on it's side, you'll need about 24" of clearance to get the stairs through the door of your camper.I gave it four stars as kind of a compromise. If your threshold height is just right, your RV is parked on pavement or some other level surface and you stay put for extended periods of time so you're not constantly having to pack it up and unpack it, it is definitely a five star product. If, on the other hand your RV is significantly higher or lower than the top step, you generally camp at unimproved sites and you move camps daily, then it's probably three stars at best, but even then it probably beats a step stool.

This is practically useless for my application. Stated dimension for width is 35.4” and this is only 27.5”. Very flimsy. I needed it to span a septic cover, bought this specifically for the width.

The 3 Step RV Stairs Updated Mobile Home Stairs Steps are very sturdy and well engineered. They won't rot or crumble like masonry or wooden steps. They are light enough to move around. They are assembled with heavy bolts and nuts. The grippy and bright hazard tape on the steps is a real plus. The hand rails are adjustable up and down. The 3 Step RV Stairs Updated Mobile Home Stairs Steps certainly would serve as a portable work platform. For camping they could be used for firewood storage, or other types of storage. Adding some hardware cloth to the sides would make using them for storage even more versatile. In short, if you need some sturdy well designed steps that go together easily, then the 3 Step RV Stairs Updated Mobile Home Stairs Steps are the answer. I have been dealing with steps all my life, and they can be a hassle. That is why I am so impressed by these.

I built these in just under 10 minutes. Super easy to do, almost no tools required. All the parts are well-made and very strong. Time will tell if they are susceptible to rust. But there is no bend or give when I go up them, and I weigh 240 lbs. The grip is also a very nice feature, because we use these to get in/out of our raised hot-tub.My only critique is that you cannot build this with only 2 steps, it must be 3 steps. You would have to chop up the frame, permanently cutting it apart if you wanted only 2 steps. I can live with the third step, but it would be nice if I could have opted to configure it with only 2 steps.
