Working in the HVAC world some tools are just way over priced and one is a N2 flow regulator. This one cost half of a name brand tool. Works just the same. Can see the bubble really easy and adjustment is really precise.

No leaks. Smooth feel on the adjustment dial. Steady flow rate through the full range. 10 to 70 SCFH. Simple lightweight construction. I ballparked my flow rate prior to having this, now I realize I was flowing way too much and filling up unnecessarily. Probably could have bought this 5 times over with the extra money I spent on refills. Fragile old school tech so be careful. Probably best for someone in a stationary setup. If you're mobile and use your nitrogen often, maybe consider going with a newer integrated regulator. Something that can take a beating. I unmount my regulators from my tanks and keep them protected. Since I only do HVAC and plumbing maybe 20 times a year, it will be fine for my needs.

This was for Nitrogen gas with 1/4” Female Flare Inlet Connection and 1/4” Male Flare Outlet Connection. It is about 7 inches long. It is the same shape as another regulator I own. This flow indicator does not have a psi gauge for the tank itself so its only function is to dose the amount of gas coming out of the "regulator". The flow indicator seems to be made mostly out of brass. The top gauge is made out of clear plastic that is heavy duty. It has a silver ball that hovers at the set gas rate. Overall this "regulator" seems to feel well built and heavy duty. It does have a 1 year warranty which is important because you could have a leak and Nitrogen is lighter than air. It seems like they trust there flow indicator to performance well for a long time considering the generous long warranty.

Using gas from a high pressure cylinder requires a step down regulator to reduce the tank pressure of 2500 psi to working pressures of 5 to 20 psi. The regulator only controls the pressure, but only allows a rough estimate of the volume of gas. The addition of a flowmeter or flow control allows you to adjust the volume of gas. These are useful in gas welding and other applications requiring a measured volume of gas such as MIG and TIG welding and other industrial applications. I use this in combination with a regulator for my MIG Welder and a TIG Welder when I purchase one. Nitrogen- although expensive can be used to run compressed air tools such as in NASCAR. YOU KNOW... when they change tires on pit row. I threw that in for free. Most often used in MIG and TIG welding, this flowmeter does a good job of metering the proper volume of nitrogen. I can be used with other gasses but you will need to adjust to best performance rather than using the scale because it is calibrated for nitrogen. I am very pleased with this product and its performance in my shop.
