I needed a flexible sanding disk for a woodworking project. Purchased the 5 in. Polishing/Sanding Set from Harbor Freight that is setup for their angle sander/grinder. This adapter fit perfectly and allows me to use the disk in the drill press or hand drill.

Was able to use multiple drill bits and bores for my project with this adapter. Was not familiar with these sizes but with this adapter I was good with different bore sizes. Recommended.

It's nice to have the option between regular drill chuck or SDS for when I need to use a core drill. These are finished nicely with smooth edges and solid heft. For this price and this versatility, I find this product package very convenient and I'm happy to have it around for the occasion when I use my core drills and can choose which grade of drill I need to use at that particular time. As a guy with every size drill known to man, and a giant box of accessories, I realized I still didn't have either of these, so it's nice to form a full set. I had recently had to track down the larger size (which I don't remember exactly at the moment), but just be aware that the very large core bits usually have a wider hole with different threading (obviously) in them. Apparently, most core bits don't use pilot bits, so you can cut a guide out of a piece of plywood to use if you want. This set will allow you to use the moderate sized core bits with SDS-plus or regular chuck.

The standard thread for larger core bits is 1-1/4"-7 TPI, and that for smaller core bits is 5/8"-11 TPI. If your core drill has the larger thread, you'll need this adapter for drilling smaller holes. When tightened in place, a bit with this adapter spins very smoothly without wobble. Grease the threads on both ends with silicone paste to reduce leaks.

I have several high quality diamond core bits (I also call them masonry hole saws much to my husband’s consternation) and they don’t come with an adapter to be able to use a drill - hammer or otherwise. I’ve used them with my angle grinder since the arbors match, but if I don’t loosen the bit and then re-tighten occasionally during my task, I’ll wind up with a locked up core bit on my grinder and that is absolutely no fun, friends.These adapters fit most core bits that require a threaded connection, just be sure you check the size of the arbor - these are 5/8. The set includes 2 adapters - one for a hammer drill (SDS Plus) and one for a regular drill. I’ve always seen advice that says I should use an impact driver and that makes sense since it’s not as adjustable as a drill in terms of clutch and torque. The last thing I want to do is put the core bit against the material and pull the trigger - that bit will spin off, big as Dallas, and depending on the size of the core bit, I could easily injure myself. The core bits are big, bold and aggressive, and honestly, harder to control with a drill, but when you need a drill and are prepared, these adapters will serve you well.
