This is an amazing lightweight coffee maker that I use for backpacking/motorcycle camping. I was astonished with how quickly and well it made coffee. I previously had a collapsible silicon pour over coffee maker. I liked its size but it took forever to make coffee and often clogged because there were only a few openings at the bottom. You also had to be very careful about the coffee grain size, because too fine of grains and it wouldn't drip at all. This coffee maker though has an outstanding design. The mesh filtered sides go along each side. I originally thought that the coffee would just spill everywhere, but the white silicone sides provide a spacer to allow the adhesive force of the water to stick to the filter and then drip to the point without spilling. However, when aiming the hot water you should hit in the center of the grounds, if you pour a quick stream of water directly on the filtered sides it will go through. This large surface area makes them very resistant to clogging and allows you to quickly make coffee. I have found that the decaf grounds my partner uses brew slower than the regular coffee. I found this coffee maker was so easy to use, I began using it in our Airbnb's instead of trying how to use their electronic coffee makers. Clean up was relatively easy, I just rinsed it off and put it in a ziplock I carried to the next camping site. This has been a reliable brand for me, I use their sleeping mats, and would highly recommend this product even though it is a bit more expensive than the other options.

Like all reusable mesh filters, you have to clean them out somehow. So the typical problems come with these: oils from the coffee make the grinds sticky against plastic and steel, while there is no filter to use, you still have to wash the thing out before the next use, and most important: if you like strong coffee, this filter doesn't hold that much (for 2 cup pours like a Yeti 20oz Rambler)So, in the context of you pouring a single cup, out in the middle of a backpack trip, this is perfectly adequate and packs up small and light. However if you can spare packing out used coffee grinds and filters, you're better off with something a bit larger.

Bought this to replace my Aeropress when traveling (much less bulk) - it does a good enough job. The Aeropress is better but this is a fraction of the sizePros: takes up no space, provides a decent cup of coffeeCons: slow & messy (it’s a pour over) compared to the AeropressOverall I am happy with it & will be using when on the road & my Aeropress when I’m home
