I've never heard of the brand but for the price I decided to take the gamble. I'm glad I did because this boring bar exceeded my expectations. It looks nice and has all the relevant information you would need on the side of the bar (min. hole diameter, part numbers for screws and seat, etc). I can tell it has been hardened but have yet to actually check the hardness to get a definitive value. I will update when I get a chance to do that.Whenever I buy value machining tools, the inserts they provide are usually crap and I expected this one to be the same since there was no carbide grade listed on the insert. I had it taking .100" DOC, (.200" overall) on some 316 stainless and it did great. I would have pushed it even further if my set up would have allowed for it.Overall, I really like the bar so far but there is some some room for improvement. Most tools have the clamp/seat fasteners with hex's on both ends so you can loosen it if a chip gets stuck in the upper one or if it gets stripped. This bar does not have the lower hex, and that would be a nice inclusion in future iterations. I would also rather the fasteners require a Torx key instead of a hex, but that's subjective.Overall, a very good buy.
