We were able to sleep in another room and still be alerted of movement.

4 different sets of instructions on setting it up which of course confused me and so I was afraid to even try. Finally I just turned on the sensor and turned on the monitor and they were connected. Works great for notifying me when my husband attempts to get out of bed. And as I put the pad under his shoulder area, it does chime plenty early for me to get to him before he gets out of bed.

This item worked well the pad and alarm unit were easy to set up and the 3 volume levels are all effective. I would recommend.

Dad is in assisted living and can not remember to pull the cord or push for button for help. He has a history of falling and not supposed to get up without assistance. Alarm was easy to install and is working great -- he can't figure out how staff knows he is getting up. Great investment and if it saves him having a bad fall it is priceless. Highly recommend.

Works well, however it is slow to alarm soy father can get out of bed before I have a chance to get to bed & I'm always close by in next room in small apartment. Trial & error with placement but once you can find right placement he alarms without false alarm during to movements other than getting out of bed

Easy to use. Pad fits nicely on mattress. Monitor can be 300 ft away. This is very useful because the staff at Retirement Home are alerted at the Nurses station when my mother is trying to get out of bed. They can assist her which means less falls

Gave us the piece ofMind to leave our elderly (dementia) mother in the next room knowing if she tired to get up it would set off the alarm and we could attend to her

Item is exactly as described in details. Works perfectly for our 92 year old mother. It is easy to set up and use. Our best results were placing the mat under her shoulder area. That way the alarm would go off and give us a little extra time to get to her. It can be used in a chair also. The alarm box has 3 volume settings. Each at loud enough to hear pretty good. If you have hearing difficulties or are a heavy sleeper then the highest setting should work for you. The overall construction of the alarm box is very good and so far has worked perfectly. The mat is made of vinyl. So far it's held up okay (it's only been a week or so), but basically anything vinyl can crack or separate at the seams.Overall I am completely satisfied with this product and I do recommend it for everyday home use.

I almost did not buy this alert system because of the reviews stating to much time delay (2-3 seconds) from getting up and alerting signal caregiver.Thankfully we bought this anyway. There does exist a slight delay (engineered) which helps from sending false alerts throughout the night. This gives us much needed sleep without constant false alert waking us.My mother does not sit up and get out of bed in 2-3 seconds like a normal healthy fit person might during the night to get to the restroom. instead she sits up for just a moment, then starts to pull back coverings. This sends us a pleasant chime (on low) and allows us ample time to look at our video monitor to confirm she is getting up. She can not walk but believes she still can (dementia). We have enough time with this alert system to quickly rise and get to her room. She is always surprised how we know what she is doing during the night. This has actually helped her rest more through the night knowing we will respond if she has a need. This has been a huge blessing because we also can sleep assured that we have an alert system that works. We were on the verge of hiring nigh care giver, but now we have the confidence to manage mom without the fear of falls climbing out of bed at night.Pros: System works well (recommend an additional low light video monitor to aid in decision to get up or not)Battery powered so monitor can move room to room when we start our day but mom is still sleeping. Plus you can buy additional alert pads (wheel chair, etc) and use with same monitor.Cons: Alert signal (chime and light) works on 3 C-batteries just fine, but this package does NOT include the additional 12v AC adapter if you choose not to use batteries. But at least you have that option.

We bought a Smart Caregiver cordless bed alarm last year after Mom broke her hip and needed assistance. Mom has Alzheimer's and can't remember that she can't safely walk without her walker so I have to get up every night when the bed alarm goes off. Unfortunately, they are designed so that the batteries in the pad are not user replaceable. You have to buy one every year to keep on top of it so you know you have a fresh pad before finding out the hard way. This year I bought this particular model (same brand) and it was a disaster. It chimed even when Mom took a deep breath. All. Night. Long. I assumed it was defective so I returned for an exchange. At first it did the same thing but then it worked. Now suddenly doesn't work at all. It's a miracle that Mom hasn't ended up in the floor!I found out this is a slightly different design from the Smart Caregiver pad that worked so well for us in the past. This one has an odd dongle off the side with a battery alert that the other model didn't have. The monitor looks slightly different (printing) and it clicks a lot after it chimes.Today is Oct 6. Return period ended Oct 4.
