Bright enough to be seen outside, but not in direct sunlight. Seems well designed and constructed.Two years later: I've had to replace it twice. Not sure exactly why, I'll blame it on being outside and in the damp. It's under the eaves of the house, and I used sealant to try to protect it, but it still burns out. It does run pretty hot.
