The bit was very very dull and slightly bent. It also drills deeper then a half inch after u counter sink it a bit. The 1/2 bit actually went all the way through my stock to be able to get it countersunk. They need to make the bits shorter so u can counter sink the studs without drilling through the entire stock. And also they should send them sharp. They wouldn't cut butter. For the price I'm disappointed but they do get the job done. I just hope the bent end didn't oval my pilot hole out too much for the threads not to catch. Well see after the stock finish dries

Buy these bits if you need to install sling swivels on a rifle or shotgun stock. They may not be the best quality, but they do get the job done. I used them to install a set of Uncle Mike's sling swivels on a Rrger 10/22 stock. Came out real nice!

A necessary tools for swivel mount screws. These work well for chasing the pilot hole for the swivel mount screw and the countersink provides a perfect fit for the mount screw. The only issue I had was the countersink spurs were not sharp. (an auger-bit file helps) You want the countersink cut to be a clean as possible without any chipping. A sharp countersink ensures a good result.

These work much easier than using 2 different size drill bits and leaves a nice clean hole with no burrs in the wood.

I've wanted a set of these drill bits for along time. They work great and make perfect holes for sling studs. The packaging says it has thorough instructions but as a technical writer I would say there are some gaps. It was not an a big deal to me because I already knew what each bit was for, however some may not.

I used this set to install a rear swing swivel stud on my Henry lever action. I covered the area with painters tape and using a small square and ruler I located the site to drill using the screws in the buttplate as a guide. I drilled the initial hole slightly under size using a taped on Gator V Drill guide and got a perfect pilot hole. To get the the hole recessed properly for the spacer i used one of these bits because unlike a regular countersink they cut a flat countersink. I did this all with a hand drill and it looks perfect. If you take your time, measure carefully and tape well this is a pretty easy job.

First, these aren't very sharp and the tips don't look like drill bits. For wood, they worked okay although they took more force than a regular drill bit would. For plastic, the holes weren't clean, the way a drill bit would make them and don't bother trying to countersink in a synthetic stock with these bits. In my opinion, using sharp drill bits for the holes and countersinks would work a lot better than these.
