The thing stayed on "hard ball" whike my sugar burned 🤬, was supposed to be clear with a hint of green... I didn't even get a chance to put the color in, I pou it in molds just to cool so I can throw it away

Please be sure to check your accuracy on all your thermometers. I got 188° temp for boiling water on this thermometer, not the 212° true temp. That means you would over cook your maple syrup by 20°! This could mean ruined recipes for other items such as candies and sugars. It's not just this brand but any you use. I contacted company, just waiting on reply.

This is better than any other thermometer (and I have tried a dozen or so) because its glass bulb is closer to the steel guard at the bottom of the thermometer, meaning I can monitor the temperature of a lower/smaller amount of liquid in the bottom of a pan without needing to tip the pan periodically. It clips nicely to the side of the pan, although I do wish the clip did not slide all the way off the top.
