Premium urethane round belting is suitable for your conveyor applications and most other light to medium duty applications. You can join the ends to create a custom belt by simply melting the tips of the material and sticking them evenly to one another until they cool.

How to use?
The method of joining the ends of the belt:
Step1: To be heated with an alcohol lamp until it is hot enough to melt the end of the belting.
Step2: Join the ends together until they cool.
Step3: Trim off the extra material around the joint until the joint is the same diameter as the belt.

This material is easy to work with. Just cut the length necessary and melt ends together.

I will admit that I was skeptical but this was my final option to keep my old drill press in service. I coul not locate high quality belts that would fit. I cut this with a heated utility knife, and welded it by melting the ends in a blow torch. It took me some time to cut the belt down to the perfect size, but it has been in heavy use for several weeks and it is doing great.

This polyurethane cord makes good drive belts, although the welding of the ends together is trickier than they would have you think. I had to practice the welds half a dozen times before I got one clean enough to hold together more than ten minutes. I used a file to polish the sides of a wide soldering iron tip, got it real hot, held the butt ends against their respective faces of the iron until there was a good melt, and then slid them together off the end of the iron. I held the ends together in my hands for five minutes to ensure a good set, then let the set 'cure' for thirty minutes. This did the trick. Keeping the ends clean during the melt and fusing makes all the difference, as does the curing time.
