Connection Tips and Technical Notices:

Warning: If connecting a trolling motor, large LED light bar, agricultural sprayer or other high current electronic 12V device you MUST use a secondary YP-LDR50 Heavy Duty relay and the correct size gauge of wire on the load side of the relay between the relay and the device you are connecting. You must also use the same size gauge of wire on the battery connection to the relay to insure proper function and protection of your device. Please consult the specifications for the device you are connecting for proper wire sizing BEFORE installation.

Make sure the plug-and-play connectors are completely pushed together when connecting the system together. Yak-Power uses our own custom tooled, high tolerance, very snug fitting connectors with larger gauge, real copper wire to ensure a quality, weatherproof and reliable connection. Using other aftermarket connectors or splicing other connectors into the YP system may cause damage to the system or the accessories connected to the system

Always make sure the polarity of the main power wire to the relay pack is correctly plugged into its mating battery power wire. The positive male (red wire) side of the relay pack connector should plug into the female (red wire) side of the battery connector and the female (black wire) side of the relay pack connector should plug into the male (black wire) side of the battery connector. This will insure that the relay pack is properly wired to power so that it can communicate with the keypad. If power is not properly connected to the relay pack or if the polarity of the battery connector is wrong, the relay pack will not be powered up and will not be able to communicate with the keypad. This will result in the keypad not fully turning on and the keypad numbers not illuminating. If you are having issues with your wireless switcher turning on, please check the polarity of the main power connector to the relay pack to insure that the battery connector into which you are plugging has the female side on the positive (red) wire and the male side pin connector on the negative (black) wire. Also, please make certain that BOTH clear battery insulator tabs have been removed from the keypad battery compartment on applicable models (YP-RP5WR, YP-RP5W-OR)

This product is amazing. I have it in my 12 foot kayak hooked up to two different sets of lights and a fish finder. The instructions are good and it’s easy to install even for a beginner. Highly recommend if you want to give your kayak some swag and make all the electronics work simpler.

I threw this on my kayak and ran my lights and Garmin to it. Setup and install were too easy…plug and play. I only wish the control cable was longer, I had to and extra cable to reach my ports.

Really like this setup but beware if you fish ALOT of saltwater.. had several connections corrode and failed… no problem in freshwater but not completely water proof..

This is extremely well made, waterproof, and should last virtually forever. It has 5 circuits, which for me powers sonar, lights, chargers front and back, with one circuit to spare.

Sure I could of collected individual components and spent all day crimping in order to save $20. Meanwhile this product has zero competitors, installed in minutes, and I spent most of the day impressing my friends. This was money well spent on an impressive product. Especially, if you realize your free time has value too!

I highly recommend the yak power for any fishing kayak. It’s easy to install. You may need an extension cable for the switch.

Great product, quality construction, waterproof, and heavier gauge wire than most Polaris factory OEM accessories (e.g. Fog lights, Accent Lights etc.) I've used 2 of these on a Polaris Sportsman Big Boss 6x6 ATV to provide on/off switching capabilities that control under body Accent Lights, spot lights, dump bed lights and power outlets used for pump sprayers. I mounted both lighted switching controls on the steering grip bar which gives me 10 additional on/off switches for options I've added to my ATV. By using this product, I didn't have to cut/drill holes in the ATV dash to place 10 additional toggle switches. For higher amp drain accessories on my ATV (e.g. Pump sprayers) I use this product's relay capability connected to higher rated 30/40 amp relay so I don't exceed the rated capacity of this power panel. The quality and reliability is worth this very reasonable price. I've been very pleased with how easy I've been able to add electrical accessories to my ATV, even though these were developed for marine use. I've also purchased the optional Yak remote control unit for this panel that allows me to turn on the installed under fender, and dump body clear Accent Lights from a distance to keep from stepping on poisonous snakes as I approach my ATV in the dark. I've also purchased the 6' extension control cable for this product that allowed me to mount the switch modules on the grip bar, and the physical relay module out of sight in the front storage compartment of my Sportsman ATV. I am not affiliated with YAK, I'm an Engineer who paid the full Amazon price, but one that also recognizes an innovative, cost/time saving device. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for an easy way to add 12V switching capability to most any type of vehicle.
