I use quite a variety of heat shrink tubing in my small manufacturing shop. We make items that have an electrical component that is used outdoors in all kinds of weather, so a good waterproof shrink wrap is essential. I have used multiple brands and many different sizes, but this wrap really stands out for me. It is very pliable but while it comes on a roll it is easy to straighten out and doesn't kink much at all. It's VERY thick which I love because not only am I weather proofing my wiring, I actually use this to enhance the insulation on high-voltage wiring with two levels of shrink wrap. The wires are insulated 14 gauge wire that gets a 1/8" shrink wrap first, then a 1/4" wrap on top of that. This makes for a very heavily insulated and protective wrap on wires that are outdoors all the time. The adhesive makes for a marine- grade solid waterproof seal that is still very flexible. The shrink ratio is such that I can actually use this directly on the 14 gauge wire and it will shrink perfectly on that alone, so this is very versatile too. This wrap is much thicker than even the 3/8" and 1/2" wrap I use on other parts of our products. I'm thrilled with this seal and will be using it from now on!

I used to buy shrink tubing in small packets at the hardware store. Shrink tubes have a lot of uses beyond using them just for wiring projects. Most of what I do fits inside the 1/4 tube size so this was a good item for me to order.Shrink tube is one of the simple things to manage in attaching wires. You cut a piece of tubing, slip it over the end of the wire, attach the wires and cover the splice with the tubing. A heat gun is the best tool to shrink the tubing to protect your splice. Shrink tube is labeled with the amount of shrink you can expect from the tube; this item is rated at 3 to 1.

I got this heat shrink tubing for rewiring a boat trailer. The boat is mostly in saltwater so having adhesive in the tubing is important for proper sealing. This heat shrink tubing was easy to use and works as designed.
