About this item

  • 3:1 SHRINK RATIO - It shrinks a lot, recovers to 1/3 of its original diameter, put it on crimped and uncrimped connections, after heat shrink, it makes a strong and tight seal. Prevents failure due to corrosion, vibration, abrasion and strain
  • STURDY DUAL WALL ADHESIVE LINED CONSTRUCTION - The outer wall shrinks, providing strength, rigidity and abrasion resistance, while the inner wall provides a water-resistant seal to keep out contaminants and water. The glue inside it is stiff, strong and flexible, makes good bond to wires, and makes the wiring look clearn
  • WIDE APPLICATIONS: Must have for DIY and Repair. The shrink tubes is mostly used for soldering and covering connections on amplifier, audio, battery, radio in car, truck, boat, jeep, soloar pannel and etc, used to seal butt connectors for in-line splices, insulate tool handles to reduce electric shock, repair welding cables and insulate electrical terminals stingers and copper lugs
  • EASY TO USE - These heat shrink tubings are easy to use and can be shrunk in seconds. Simply cover the bare wire section with the heat shrink tubing and heat with a soldering iron or torch or other heat source
  • PACKAGE INCLUDES - 20 FT Diameter 1/4 Inch 3:1 Heat Shrink Tubing, Black-10Ft, Red-10Ft

Product Description

3:1 heat shrink tubing

Heat-shrink tubing is used to insulate wires, providing abrasion resistance and protection for stranded and solid wire conductors, connections, joints and terminals in electrical work.

It can also be used to repair the insulation on wires or to bundle them together, to protect wires or small parts from minor abrasion, and to create cable entry seals.

Features of RockDIG 3:1 Heat Shrink Tubings:

  • Material: Polyolefin
  • Starting shrinkage temperature: ≥ 70 ℃
  • Full shrinkage temperature: ≥105 ℃
  • Operating temperature: -45 ℃ to 125 ℃
  • Tensile strength: 10.4Mpa
  • Dielectric strength: 15 kV/mm
  • Voltage: 600V
  • Flammability: Flame Retardant

Features:

3:1 heat shrink tubing

3:1 Heat Shrinkage Ratio

  • The heat shrink tubing will recover to 1/3 of its original diameter. Using heat gun is recommended as the diameter is large.
  • 3:1 Heat shinkage ratio makes it can be used in more applications than 2:1 heat shrink tubings.

dual wall heat shrink tubing

Dual-Wall Glue Inside

  • With a layer of internal adhesived glue inside it, the shink tubing could adhere to wires and termianls more stronger than 2:1 shirnk tubing. It provides higher performance of sealing.
  • Recommend using a heat gun for better shrink performance.

water proof heat shrink tubing

Waterproof Sealing & Insulation

  • The adhesive lined heat shrink tubings are with great sealing capability for a wide variety of electrical applications, including automotive and marine wire harness, wire splices, breakouts, and connector-to-cable transitions.

Applications:

4 Large Sizes for Copper Wire Lugs

Use Φ1 3/4 1/2 3/8 inch heat shrink tubings for AWG 2/0 1/0 2 4 6 8 electrical Wires

heat shrink tubing

3 Small Sizes for Ring Fork... Terminals

Use Φ1/4 3/16 1/8 inch heat shrink tubings for AWG 22-10 solid and strands wires.

heat shrink tubing

To repair the insulation on wires

It can also be used to repair the insulation on wires or to bundle them together.

use heat gun for heat shrink tubing

How to use it?

  • Choose the size of the heat shrink tubing: measure and make sure the diameter of the wire is larger than 1/3 diameter of the heat shrink tubing.
  • Then insert wire to the heat shrink tubing, use a lighter to heat if the tubing is small size, use a heat gun to heat if tubing is large size until the wire is wrapped tightly.

We recommend using a heat gun with this product. Do not use a flame (lighter, torch, etc.) to activate the heat shrink. Fire can potentially damage the tubing. Please don't touch the tube until it cools completely.

I had a broken vacuum hose and after sealing the break with silicone tape, this went over it as a very strong protective layer.

These worked great for I used them for, which was non-electrical. I made some antenna mast guy "wires" using 3/16" starter rope and wrapped the end around a rope thimble to form a loop. I used this shrink tube to secure the end of the rope. I used a mini heat gun with the high (800 degree) setting, the tubing shrank right down and everything is secure.Did not encounter any of the issues mentioned in other review, it's not thin or fragile stuff, it shrank down without any difficulty. The length of the tubing in this set runs from 1-3/4" to 3", depending on the diameter size. What you see in my pic is a 3" piece cut into two 1-1/2" pieces.

These heat-shrinks are really great! They’re thick & durable and shrink to a ration of 3:1 (or more)! They’re easy to use and take no time at all to heat up

Super easy to use. I tend to use these clear tubes to cover labels for wires so it’s important that they shrink with low heat and seal really well. They do exactly that.I’d buy them again.

What a handy pack of heat shrink tubing. So many sizes and the shrink worked perfectly every time. I used them installing a new Lowrance HDS unit in my boat, and adhesive heat shrink is a must for marine/high moisture applications and these worked great!

Shrinks tight...the way you want it to....

Pleasantly surprised. Went to cover some 4ga battery lugs and the tubes looked way too big. Tested one by putting it on a screwdriver. I didn't expect it to shrink that much, but wanted to see how far it went. It shrunk all the way down and glued to the screwdriver. Very pleased. Good thickness - nice and heavy over the lugs. Another nice feature - they are so big you don't have to remember to put the shrink on before you crimp the connector - plenty big enough to slide on after you crimp. Haven't checked, but I would also like some that are a bit smaller, for smaller gauge wires (18-20ga tefzel, unshielded, for example.)

maybe I'm shrinking them too fast, but if you have any kind of irregularity underneath there's a very high change the sleeve will tear as it shrinks over the irregularity. I feel like a little more thickness might help. That said, they adhere great due to some glue or other kind of bonding compound inside the sleeve. I've only used the large diameter ones on battery cables for industrial equipment. I suspect the small diameter ones may be less prone to the tearing problem just due to less % shrinking
