In most of my applications, I don't trust crimp or twist connectors and i don't always have good room to solder and shrink tube connections. These are so amazing! Just twist stranded wires and mate them inside the right sized connector. Hit it with a heat gun and you're done. The connection is soldered and wrapped.

These little babies are In My Opinion (IMO) only better than crimp splices. You do need to heat them to solder the wire ends in the splice but once you do, they’re permanent, shrunk to the spliced wire; so, water proof. I use these for outdoor wire repairs. Easy to use, quick to finish and impervious to environmental hazards.
