Shrinks a ton. Both ways though. 5%? Shrink length? Nah. Maybe 15% to 20% buy extra and buy a fiberglass smoothing tool.

PVC shrink wrap is thin but strong, You have to take caution while heating it as it can burn a whole easily. It has been great fory custom battery builds.

This was for my son. An ebike enthusiast. He needed to wrap his ebike battery. This stuff worked easily and fast with a heat gun or blow dryer type thing on I and it shrunk up quickly and completely

I built a battery pack and needed to cover it in heat shrink. The size in the description was perfect for my build, and would buy again if I have to build another pack the same size as before. Thick plastic, good quality, just make sure not to spend too much time in one area, or put too much heat because you are in a hurry LOL. I put a small hole in part of the shrink, but not a problem with the tubing, the problem was me getting in a hurry and using a little bit too much heat :). but you'll have this I guess - just remember to slow down a bit and back off a little on the heat as well, and this wrap will give you the result to desire and deserve.

Used this to encapsulate a 4x4 pressure treated wood post to set in concrete. Needed to create separation between the post and a metal post sleeve to prevent corrosion. Worked perfectly for this.
